As I woke up, I noticed that there was a cold feeling on my back. I tired jolting up but something held me down.

"Don't move Catherine! I just finished cleaning your wounds." Zane calmly said to me. I felt his delicate hands skimming over my skin, sending sparks through my body.

"Ok the medicine is on. It will help prevent infection and keep your marks clean," He smiled.

"Please stand up so I can wrap you back up." Zane said as he examined his work. I hesitantly got up. Zane motioned for me to lift my shirt up. I slowly held my shirt up, but only enough so he could wrap the bandage around my torso. Once he was done I quickly put my shirt back down, and I started blushing. Zane realized that I was blushing and chuckled to himself.

"Thank you." I whispered. I looked down at the ground. Zane walked up towards me and put his hand on my chin, tracing my jaw line. He lifted my face up and said,

"You're welcome."

"I have to go back home." I just had to get away from him. I really didn't want to go home, but I could trick him into letting me go.

"I already told you silly, you can't. Besides I'm never letting him hurt you ever again." Zane explained.

"But I have to finish school." I lied. I graduated a semester earlier than my class mates because I was a little more advanced than them.

Besides, this guy kidnapped me, I can't stay here. Zane seemed to ignore what I said.

"H-how old are you?" I asked him. If we are going to be mates, he can't be much older than me.

"20" Zane said.

"Is this even legal?" I questioned. I know kidnapping isn't, but if he is saying we are "soul mates" then does that mean I have to date him?

"Even if it was, werewolf laws are different." Zane sighed. Zane was staring out the window, totally out of it. I took this as my chance to escape.

"I'm just g-going to the rest room." I made an excuse. Zane nodded. When he wasn't looking I opened the room's front door and ran out in the hall. I closed the door and when I did, I heard Zane yell something. I ran as fast as I could my blonde hair flying behind me, as I went to the elevator. I quickly got in and pressed the lobby button. As soon as I pressed the button I saw Zane running towards the elevator door. It closed slowly but luckily it closed before Zane reached it, but just barely. As soon as the elevator door opened I ran. I heard loud stomping sounds getting louder from the stair case, which was next to the elevator.

I looked around my surroundings and saw lots of unfamiliar faces staring at me. Probably because I wasn't a familiar face to them too. I was in a huge lobby that had a giant front desk were multiple receptionists stood. I ran around people, and through groups of people talking. I burst through the front doors and ran outside.

"Someone stop her!" Zane yelled to everyone in the lobby. I kept running and running as fast as my little legs could take me. But being 5'4 doesn't really help a girl in these kinds of situations. While I wasn't paying attention, I fell on a stump and scraped my knee pretty badly. Blood was flowing down my leg. It doesn't matter, I have to get away. I got back up and stared running once more.

"Zane I smell blood!" Yelled a low pitched man's voice, then a growl soon after. Oh no! They will find me! I quickly grabbed on a branch of a nearby tree and climbed up. Once I was hidden in the branches and leaves I heard someone yell,

"I lost her scent, where did she go?"

"Catherine! My love, please come out, if you're hurt I can fix you." Zane cried out. A part of me felt bad, but another part was happy because I got away from my kidnapper. Zane walked right under my tree and called out my name once more. I leaned forward to get a clear view, but in doing so, I lost my balance and squeaked. Zane looked up.

"Catherine! Please come down!" Zane moaned as he saw the blood on my knee. I now rebalanced myself.

"Leave me alone!" I yelled. Zane motioned for his friends to go back in the hotel. Like he thought he could finish the job.

"Catherine, please come down." Zane cried to me.

"N-no." I cried back. I leaned forward again but this time I slipped big time. I fell backwards out of the tree.

"ZANE!!!" I screamed. He rushed over to me, and caught me before I hit the ground. He was holding me bridal style, again.

"H-hi..." I whispered as Zane hugged me tightly.

"I'm never letting my mate run away ever again." Zane sighed into my shoulder. The sparks reappeared and it spread through my body, starting from my neck.

"Zane, let me go." I commanded. He looked at me in shock from this new tone I had in my voice. As soon as he let me down, I sprinted again. I looked behind me and saw Zane following behind me, but before I fully looked back in front of me I ran into a wall.

"Oof!" I said as I fell down on my butt. When I looked up, I saw a very menacing man looking down at me, with his eyes looking me up and down. I got up and stumbled backwards, into Zane. He put me behind him so he could protect me. I looked back up at the other man looking at me.

"Lord Valentine." Zane growled.

"Alpha Goldheart." Lord Valentine growled back. I stared in wonder, what was happening?

"I smelled bloooooooood." Lord Valentine smiled, dragging out the "o" in blood.

"None for you, you blood sucker!" Zane said as he put his arms out trying to shield me from his stare.

"That's one pretty human you have there." Lord Valentine said, pointing at my cowering figure.

"And she is for me." Zane growled, his eyes turning black.

"Now, as the treaty says, go back to your territory! And leave my mate alone!" After Zane said that, Lord Valentine smiled and disappeared into a cloud of bats, which eventually flew away. Zane turned around and saw my scared expression.

"Hurry, let's go back inside." Zane put his hand gently on my lower back; leading me back to the hotel I just tried escaping.
