"I hate her, I hate this mission, and I hate you." I looked straight at Sam.

Sam turned his head from the window and frowned, "Heeeey..." He whined, a pout evident on his face.

"C'mon Lace, it's only the first day and you're not even out of the car yet." Mason reasoned.

"Besides, I even worked my magic to make you presentable." Skylar added.

" I look like a hooker. You do realize that I can barely hide a gun in this outfit right?" I deadpanned taking in my appearance.

A white lace crop top did a mediocre job of covering my torso hence my bare midsection and the generous display of my cleavage, high-waisted black shorts ended well above my fingertips and a pair of gladiator sandals wrapped around my calves. Basically, this outfit was asking for some random guy to assault me- but knowing Skylar, it could've been worse. The only thing I had going for me was a navy kimono adorned with pink and white flowers- it successfully covered majority of the exposed skin I was unwilling to show on my backside- and my hair and makeup. Vivi didn't hold back in either department, which resulted in soft curls reaching my waist and dark, alluring makeup which I didn't complain about, she actually let me choose what went on my face.

Brandon looked at me curiously, "Where-"

"Honey, if I wanted you to be a hooker, you would be practically naked if I had a say in it. You look great- sexy even. If I was a high school boy, I would tap that. Wouldn't you Mason?" Skylar cut in. Her smirk was aimed at me and and the sly glimmer in her eye aimed toward Mason out of the corner of her eye made me eager to wipe that look off her face.

My eyes flickered toward Mason. He turned his head to look at Sky when he heard his name, then over his shoulder to look at me; his mouth was opening, but nothing was said as he was at a loss for words. I cleared my throat and tried to ignore the butterflies, deciding that looking at my polished fingernails was a much better option than staring at Mason as we waited for his response. The moment of silence as Mason thought of his answer nearly killed me.

"I-" The bell chimed, successfully cutting Mason off and indicating that school was now in session.

"That's my cue, any last words before I go in?" I said, looking around the car.

"Make friends."

"Fuck someone hot."

"Get high."

"Play football."

We looked at Brandon and Sam, "Really?" Vivi asked.

"What?" Brandon said defensively, " None of us have gone to high school and we'll all be living vicariously through Lacey! Don't you want at least one of us to experience the glory of getting high with cheap drugs and making bad choices? At least I didn't tell her to play football." We turned our heads to look at Sam.

Sam looked each of us in the eye, "What he said." He gestured to Brandon.

We all either groaned or smacked our faces with our hands- or in Skylar's case, the window- at his stupidity. I don't know how she puts up with it. I fought the strong urge to smack him upside the head. Maybe if I smacked him hard enough, his head would hit the window and break it, cutting his jugular along the way and killing him.

Coming to the conclusion that I had nothing to lose, I reached back and smacked Sam upside the head, but his head only bounced against the window. I frowned in disappointment, one could only hope.

Sam rubbed his head, the pout coming on stronger than ever, "Heeeeey!" He whined again, half-heartedly trying to smack my head back. I smacked his hand away, which resulted in grumbling and even more pouting.

"Anyway," Mason started, "Like Brandon said, we are basically living vicariously through you. We can see what you see, hear what you hear."

I nodded in understanding.

"From what I can gather, you only have a few classes with Jane so just try to make friends with her okay? And try to gather as much information about her in the other classes I guess, who her friends are, how she acts, what she does during her free time." He advised.

I nodded along. Nerves slowly started to seep in.

"We'll be right here if you need us. One word and we'll come bursting in, guns blazing." He looked into my eyes, easing the growing nerves a bit..

I smiled softly at my oldest comrade. I wasn't the only one that lost someone on that dreadful day. "I know."

He exhaled, looking me up and down. I tried to fight the blush that was surely growing on my cheeks. "Good luck squirt."

Feeling elated, I beamed and exited the car then made my way toward the concrete building.

"Have fun!" I smiled at Vivi's cheer as I walked up the steps.

"Make bad choices!" I chuckled at Brandon's words.

"Get in lots of fights!" I flipped Sam the bird.

"Have lots of sex!" I turned back and glared at Skylar, then made my way toward the door. She winked in return.

"Lace!" I heard Mason's voice call out.

I turned around, tilting my head in question.

"I think you look beautiful." He said; a mix of a smile and a smirk on his face.

Well, if I wasn't blushing before, I definitely am now. Tongue tied, I pathetically nodded my head in thanks and continued my trek into the school. The heat in my cheeks rose when I could hear the loud cheers and shouts from the boys and the giggles from the girls coming from the car. I rolled my eyes, a large grin etched on my face.

Idiots.

---------------------

Awwh isn't Lacey just the cutest?? How do you think Lacey's first day of high school will go? Will she love it? Hate it? What do you think her impression of Jane will be?

On the other hand, Mason is played by the flawless Sam Claflin!! If you guys have seen the film Love Rosie, you'll get to see this pairing in action, which may make it easier to picture them potentially being together.

Until next time~~~~
