Second Officer Neil Farmer sat in his private cabin brooding. The pain and humiliation of being attacked by Ray Reid had driven him on to seek revenge and re-establish his credibility. In that selfish pursuit he had defied the Captain's authority and because of that snake in the grass Mark Chelmsford the Captain had found out almost immediately.
The anger and frustration he felt as a result of Ray Reid's attack and his failure to get the message to HQ in England about Jamie Gregory's perversions were all eclipsed by the anger he now felt for Jamie Gregory and especially the Captain.
The Captain had undermined and embarrassed Neil in front of Jamie BLOODY Gregory. A junior crew man who was a confessed transvestite, or whatever it is they called themselves Neil thought with anger and rage.
Neil would get his revenge, if not now then later and if not then before this voyage was over! They would not see landfall again until Neil had got his revenge!

Ray stifled a cough as the chill of being below decks caught up with him. He found it especially cold as he had lost some of his clothes by dressing up the bags he put aboard the lifeboat.
The plan had worked exactly as Ray had hoped. Ray could hear the commotion on the Bridge Wing as he launched the life boat whilst hiding below it. They all believed he was on board and now the search for him was over.
First Ray needed to find some more clothing and stockpile water and food for the rest of the journey. Then he would set about getting revenge against those who had done him wrong. Ray would enjoy that and it would give Ray something to occupy his mind on the long lonely journey ahead.
