It was nine at night, the cold London air perfect as always. My cheeks a rosy pink from the winding bitting at them. I had nothing on but a light sweater and jeans, music on, but turned on low volume so I could be able to hear my surroundings.
London wasn't safe at night, or a least the part of London where I lived. Everyone knew not to make a sound when it became dark, everyone knew not to walk or run or drive around the streets of London at night because of them. Them referring to what made the streets of London so dangerous.
But I, I could care less. Night walking was my kind of thing. It was something I'd do since I was at the age of ten. And nothing has ever happened to me.
Maybe because I was too young at the time, but now I'm pretty much an adult. 18 years old turning 19 next month.
My mother had no control over me since she had been killed by one of them. And my father, never have I ever met him in my life.
So I live with my grandmother. She's not the best at keeping me safe, but she tries her hardest, and I truly appreciate it.
As I was continuing down the street that turned onto my block I heard a ruffle of leaves by a street light. I unplugged my headphones and placed them into my jean pockets.
I looked over to where the noise came from and saw nothing. And then that light went out and it became darker. I knew that if I panicked they would hear me. My heart beating faster by the second if I did so. So I kept calm and continued to walk. But then I heard the noise again, coming closer to me.
I stopped in my tracks once again looking over my shoulder around near where the noise was and nothing. I turned back around and there he was face to face contact with me.
I tried my best to keep calm, but I couldn't. I panicked and he sure as hell knew it. The lighting was out and I couldn't make out what he looked like. But his eyes were full of lust a nice dark shade of red.
"Don't you know it's not safe to be out around at night?" He spoke. His deep raspy voice echoing through my ears. His fingers brushed against the skin on my cheeks and I shuttered with the feel of it.
"You look like a tasty one." Out came another man. Tall, lean, very muscular. I saw his eyes, bright blue shining in the dark of the night. I just stood still, my eyes watching every move the two men made.
"And I found her first so she's mine." The first man spoke again his lips grazing the perfect spot on my neck to kill me anytime. "All of you."
"Do it then." I finally spoke. My voice a little shaky. He didn't speak, all I felt was his hot breath on my neck and his cold hands around mine so I wouldn't move.
"Do what babe? Kill you? Bite your neck? That's too easy." He spoke gently kissing my neck and I pulled back without a second thought taking a step back.
"So what are you doing then? If you're not going to bite me, let me go." I talked back gaining my composer. He had a deep dark laugh. His breath reeked of a metal smell. And I noticed he had a rusty color of red dried out on his chin and neck.
"I say we take her back." Another voice rang out from behind a bush. A pair of light brown eyes looking at us.
"Why? We can just kill her here, lets not be so difficult on this decision I'm hungry." Out came another voice. It was the whole pack. I turned in that direction and saw his face. Blue eyes, blonde hair, mouth covered in blood.
"Could've cleaned up a bit to make a better impression." I snapped at him. He was disgusting. All of them probably were.
"What'd you say?" He spat running up to me. His fangs coming out. My eyes widened. And I didn't say another word.
"Leave her alone." A deep strong voice boomed out around the streets. I had no idea where the voice came from, but everyone else had backed up from me slowly. I too started to back up and make my way back towards my house.
That was until I bumped into something. Or someone.
"Where do you think you're going?" He spoke. He was tall, muscular, brown eyes, short hair. He had tattoos running up his right arm of these arrow looking things. He also had a tattoo of a quote saying "everything I ever wanted, but nothing I'll ever need". He had other ones, but those are the only ones I could make out at the moment.
"I think I was going home." I spat rolling my eyes. I had no idea where all this courage was coming from, but it was there. And I'm most likely going to get myself killed if I keep up the attitude.
"I know you're scared. You don't have to hide it and act tough." He paused moving behind me. His hand pushing my long brunette hair out of the way so he could get a perfect view of my neck.
"I can hear your heart beat pounding against your rib cage. The pulse in your neck and wrist. Your blood stream running through your veins. I can smell the fear coming off of you. You're really bad at trying to hide it." He spoke softly. His breath hitting my neck every now and then.
"You don't have to be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you." He was now back to face to face contact with me. His index finger lifting up my chin so I would look directly into his eyes. But I knew how things with them worked. If you looked into their eyes they could compel you and you'd do anything they say.
I turned my head and looked away. All he did was sigh.
"Look at me sweetie." I cringed at the word sweetie. The only person who calls me sweetie was my grandmother. It was weird and creepy to hear it leave behind his lips.
"No." I said looking at the ground.
"You're making this harder then it should be Liam! Lets just get it over with and be done!" The blonde one growled. So his name is Liam then. No one has ever known any of their names. But I know one of them now.
"Quiet Niall." Two of them.
"Niall's right mate." Said the other brown eyed one.
"Zayn if you dare speak another word." He shot back. "That goes for the rest of you too. Louis and Harry." The blue eyed one who I was going to guess was Louis stepped out, and the first one I had seen earlier stepped out slowly. His hands shoved in his pockets. Head in the direction of the ground. He slowly looked up at me and his eyes weren't like the rest of them. They were red. He was hungry, very hungry.
"Liam if you don't kill her anytime soon, I will." He spoke in his deep raspy voice.
"I thought you said you weren't going to." I spoke up. My eyes at the direction of him. "That it was too easy. What happened to that?"
"I wasn't as hungry and irritated as I am now." He spat back. The veins around his eyes popping out and this fangs coming out. He looked much much angrier now.
"Harry if you so kill this girl, I will have no second thoughts about killing you right after!" Liam roared.
"Now look at me dammit!" He yelled at me. My eyes widened and I nodded and looked at him.
"What is your name?" He asked, the anger still evident in his voice.
"A-Ally." I stuttered out. I was getting scared now. Not that I wasn't before, but even more scared.
"Beautiful name. Now you're going to listen to me." His eye contact took me and I froze in place and listened just like he told me too.
"You are going to come back with me and the rest of my boys. You will not protest and you will not scream, run, or panic." I didn't say anything but nod. I couldn't say anything nor do anything. So all I did was agree.
And from there I knew my life was going to change, I knew nothing was ever going to be the same. So I took my last breath and walked away with them. A tear slipped down my face because I knew I'd never get to see anyone ever again.
I should've listened to what everyone says, but you can't always be afraid of the dark. Can you?
