A full month had passed now since Winter's father's wedding and she and Niall were still the happy couple they'd always been. They'd only been intimate once more since their first time and it was a desperate attempt on Winter's part to try to cheer Niall up after a particularly rough day. He'd been having a lot of those lately. The assholes at school couldn't let up about the fact that the church boy had a girlfriend. And then, as things often do in high school, the news about him no longer being a virgin was passed around rather quickly and this little piece of information only encouraged the drama more. Niall was tired of being picked on when he was just starting to feel normal.

He tightly clutched the straps of his backpack, keeping his head down after just dropping Winter off at her first class of the day. The halls were loud and hectic just before class. He felt significantly less confident whenever Winter wasn't with him. Especially now. Niall kept his conversation to a minimum and avoided eye contact with anyone except his love, of course. He did everything he could to blend in, when in fact, all he did was stand out more. "Aw, where's your fuck toy?" Someone teased, faking a pout as he nudged Niall's arm.

Niall rubbed his sore arm and muttered underneath his breath, "She isn't a toy."

"I'm sorry, what was that?" The voice taunted, bowing his head to be at Niall's level.

If there was one place in which Niall would always stand up, it was on Winter's behalf. He kept his mouth quiet when people insulted him, but when it came to Winter, he could never find it in him to just let it pass. "I said, my girlfriend is not a toy."

He grabbed Niall by the collar of his shirt. Their faces were so close that Niall could smell the weed on the kid's breath. Niall grimaced and swallowed hard. "Who the fuck are you?" The taller boy growled, "Not shit. Don't talk to me like you're something." He dropped Niall and then mumbled to his friends, "Thinks he's got good shit because he has a girl." Niall was confused. He didn't understand that type of language very well. Inhaling a deep breath, Niall shoved the straps of his backpack up and disappeared.

Niall settled into his first class and as soon as he pushed his chair in, the blondest girl in the whole damn school sat on his table, beside where he was sitting. She dangled her legs and fought back a giggle while eying Niall up and down. He nervously glanced at her before looking back down to his notebook. The girl nudged his leg with her foot and flipped her hair over her shoulder when he lifted his eyes to meet hers. "Wanna fuck?" She asked, ignoring the guys that watched and burst into laughter as soon as the words left her mouth. She was trying to keep her composure.

"What?" Niall asked, furrowing his eyebrows. His cheeks burned a crimson color.

She laughed and said, "Let me put it in words you might better understand. Would you like to put you penis inside of my vagina for a little bit?" Niall's eyes widened and all he could do was frantically shake his head. Of course he didn't want to do that. Why would she even ask him?

She laughed an obnoxious laugh and slid off of the table, high-fiving her boyfriend as he stepped up to her. He kissed her right in front of Niall and when they parted, the girl looked down at Niall to say, "I was kidding, dumbass. Why the hell would I want to fuck with you?" She let her boyfriend wrap his arms around her and Niall listened as her boyfriend said, "Nice one, baby girl."

Niall felt like crying. Why did he have to be at the center of everyone's sick amusement? He kept his head down for the rest of class, without even bothering to take notes. He knew he'd regret that later, but for the time being, he wanted nothing to do with anyone. When he met Winter at her locker, he leaned against the locker beside hers. His eyes were closed and he was silent. Winter was worried until she heard a voice grumble, "Move the fuck off my locker, faggot." Niall clenched his eyes shut as tightly as possible and tried not to break down in front of his girlfriend. But he'd been dealing with this nonsense all day now and he was just drained. Exhausted, really.
