April's P.O.V
"Ow. Get off me. Luke. Lukeeeee. GET OFF ME! I'll give you food."
With the last sentence, my best friend Luke Hemmings rolled off me and landed with a thump on my wooden floor. I stifled a giggle as I saw his giant body sprawled everywhere.
"Why did you even wake me this early anyway? It's only-" I turned over and pressed the home button on my phone, only to be temporarily blinded by the light. "7:36am?!"
Luke laughed, still on the floor, and said "My friends Ashton, Calum and Michael are coming over today"
"I don't see why you had to wake me up this early to tell me that. And anyway, what does that have to do with me?" I huffed
"I want you to meet them-"
"Luke. No." I interrupted.
"Aw why not?" He pouted.
"They're a older than me. And you know how awkward I am around people I haven't met before."
"Not that much older. Calum's the same age and michaels a year older. And Ashton's only 18. It won't hurt you to just meet them." I looked into his ocean blue eyes that begged me to agree with him from on top of my bed, and changed my mind.
"You know what, fine. I'll do it. But only because I love you."
"Thanks April. And I love you too." He replied and then without warning, he jumped back onto my bed and pinned me down.
"Ow Luke! Stop! What is it with you pinning me down today?" I laughed trying to shove his body off me, failing miserably.
"Not really sure to be honest. Did I ever tell you your eyes are really pretty?"
"What made you say that?" I giggled poking him in the cheek.
"I don't know. Do you have a problem with that?" He winked
"Oh definitely not."
Luke opened his mouth to reply but then shut it again instantly. His sparking eyes looked directly into mine and he leaned in slowly, just as I found my head raising up to meet his. I closed my eyes waiting to fell his lips against mine, when-
*ring*
"I- uh, oh my gosh I'm so sorry. I'll just go get that." Luke scurried out of the room and I lay back down on my bed, thinking about what happened. Did I almost just kiss my best friend I've known for over 10 years? Did he have feelings for me? Surely not, I mean, we're only friends, right? Who even knows anymore.
My thoughts were interrupted when Luke entered my room and threw one of my stuffed animals at me which I keep on the shelf by my door and it hit my headboard behind me. I quickly picked it back up and threw it right back at him. It hit him square in the face. "Bullseye!" I shouted and patted the bed next to me. He skipped over and plonked himself down beside me on the bed.
"So who phoned you?" I asked trying to keep the topic light.
"Oh, it was Ashton. He and the boys will be here in about half an hour."
"HALF AN HOUR?" I screeched, leaping up from the position on my bed. "I need to have a shower! And look vaguely decent." I exclaimed rolling my eyes, like he should know all of this.
"Alright, alright. I'll sit here. Don't be long." He said, settling himself on my bed and getting out his phone.
"You know me. I never am." I said jokingly, knowing quite well I spend a very long time getting ready. "But I'll need you to help me pick out my outfit."
"Okay, just get in there! You now only have 25 minutes go, go, go!" He said like a commander.
"Yes sir!" I giggled, saluting and ran into the bathroom and laying out my towel and turning on my favourite album from my phone.
