Why being discovered is important:
Being a discovered author is important to me because I'm trying to get better at poetry so I need a way to get noticed.
Me:
You say you know me
But you don't
Nobody knows the real me
No, nobody
Here are a few people who thought they knew me:
My friends thought I was a pessimist
They don't know how it kills me when they say that
My mom thought I was a cynic
I act jaded, but I'm not
Lots of people think I know everything
No, I do not
I know so little
SO
LITTLE
So I put on a mask
Tried to hide my emotions, smiled and laughed when really I felt like crying
Everyone likes my facade better than me
So I ask myself,
"Why be honest? What is the point?"
You say you know me
But you don't
You will know me when you look through the mask
And see who I really am
