"Surprise, are you feeling okay?" asked a girl with straight brown hair. Concern flicker through her green eyes, drawing Surprise out of her thoughts.
"Huh... What? Oh I was just thinking," Surprise sighed, looking back down to her food. It was supposedly baked spaghetti, but looked more like someone had thrown up and they put melted cheese on top. Heck, that probably what happened. She wouldn't put it past the school to do something like that to save money.
"Dude, you've been distant this whole day. It's freaking us out. You're never this quite." Surprise looked to her other friend. Why couldn't she remember her name? Wait, was she even her friend? She didn't look like Elle, Taylor, or Scar. Come to think of it, this cafeteria didn't look much like the one she remembered. It looked more like the one out of that strange dream last night.
The dream was insane. These same people where all there except they were all acting rather strangely. One thought she was a centuries old time traveler stuck in the life of a thirteen year old girl. Her not really boyfriend, that nobody liked that everyone knew she totally liked, was a stalker.
There was this insane kid who thought he was some killer from a video game. At least she remembered his name. Though, why dud she have to remember Nik, the super annoying kid?
"Surprise?"
She jerked her head to the right to see NIK. Oh god her was talking to her. She quickly pondered whether to call 911 or tell him to fuck off. However, he beat her to it.
"We're worried about you. If you could just tell us?" He sent her a charming smile.
What the fuck was wrong with her? Why was she confusing the dream with reality? She decided to tell her friends about the dream. Maybe they could help her sort through the insanity.
"Sorry guys. I just had this really weird dream last night. All of you were in it except it wasn't really you?"
"How the hell were we in a dream, but not in it?" Exclaimed the girl with short hair.
"She said it was a weird dream retard!" responded the brown haired girl.
"Retard? What are you from the ninteis or something?" asked the happier one of the group.
"No... I just wish I could go to them to escape some of this sjw shit. They are trying to take away my freedom of speech and I will not stand for it." She ranted excitedly.
"Radence, we're too young to be in to politics. Let me remain blissfully unaware of the outside world." complained the food loving male.
"Guys about the dream," interrupted Surprise, "You were there but your personalities were all off. The weirdest thing is I keep confusing it for reality."
She heard a whisper behind her.
"That's because this is the dream."
She turned around to see a short girly haired teen with a geeky shirt on. Who was this guy and what did he mean?
"Hey, Andrew do you know what we're doing in IE today?" Asked the brown haired one.
"No, but I hope it's not test prep. Again." the short figure replied.
"If it is we'll just waste the whole class period on the Weedray document and slow the wifi to a complete halt for the rest of the school." She joked.
"Yeah" he laughed back. Then he turned back to Surprise, leaning into her ear. He whispered, "Wake up Surprise, you are dreaming all of this. None of it is real." He grabbed hold of her and shoke her. His eyes turned a bright radioactive green-blue and the entire scene turned to spirals.
"What the hell? Who are you?" Surprise demanded turning around stunned. Raising her eyebrows as a song began to play.
I'm just a kid who's four...
Each day I grow some more..."Really the 'Caillou' theme song?"
I love exploring, I'm Caillou
He shrugged his shoulders. "I find it has a ironic, but dramatic effect. Plus it's part of the brand. Also, I AM LORD WEEDRAY. OBEY ME!!!"
"Okay?" Surprise rolled her eyes, despite the fact that this was confusing her even more. As she began to ponder the situation, the spirals and Lord Weedray faded to black. The Caillou theme song slowly became quieter until she was left alone with her own thoughts.
The peace and quiet was calming. She felt relaxed. The confusion left her. She content and it was going to stay that way.
BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!
Or not.
She woke up gasping. What the hell was that? She was dreaming insanity, then her friends were normal, then more insanity. Oh god, did she take drugs last night. She wouldn't even remember if she...
"BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!"
She groaned and slammed her hand down on the alarm clock. It finally shut up and she was left to think.
It was then that she realized that the dream with in her dream. The one where her friends were all insane was reality. The dream must of decided to fuck with her.
She was exhausted. Damn alarm clock waking her up early. She really didn't want to go to school to face the craziness that was her life, but she had to didn't she.
Fuck, here I was hoping that I actually had normal friends like my old ones.
She dragged herself out out the extremely comfortable bed and trudged to the shower. Thus began the long journey of getting ready for hell and prison rolled into one; school.
