The Mate That Was Not Loved (NaLu Fanfic)

Chapter 3- One Trip, Rock-Hard Abs, Two Trips, Lusty Eyes

A dazzling light broke through my sleep and slowly I began to wake up. "Where... Am I?" I asked weirdly. I slowly opened my eyes to see Gray Fullbuster and Loke sitting on either side of me. On instinct, my eyes shot wide open and I... "Kyyaa!!! Perverts!! GET OUT OF MY APARTMEN-----T!!" I finished slowly as I realized I wasn't in my apartment but in the Fairy Tale infirmary. Woops, too late! I had already Lucy Kicked the two guys into separate walls.

"Uh. Your actually awake now." Stammered Gray, making his way back over to me. "Y-yeah." I answered. I felt alright but like growing fungus I could feel the burning coming back. As Gray got over to me, he casually cowessed my hand. Loke answered back by tugging on my other arm. What is happening? I thought as the two fought over my hand...

O.O Wow that's actually really weird to say. 'They were fighting over my hand??' What the hell!??

Eventually Gray won the tug-of-war over me and slid me over his arms. He was holding me bridal-style and suddenly I felt perfectly fine... Like the burning sensation I had was just a dream, but of course I couldn't help but blush a bright pink. My heart suddenly began to beat that bit faster. He walked me out of the infirmary and straight into Fairy Tail, Loke trudging miserably behind. As we walked in I could see Gray smiling proudly, holding me; meanwhile Mirajane had one single anger symbol on her forehead and a look of confusion.

I don't think she could help it anymore though, slowly stars filled her eyes and a proud pout rose on her lips. With that the infamously loud Fairy Tail went silence, and if that's NOT shocking enough even Cana put down her barrel of beer to look at us. Mira then looked over towards Natsu and saw her NaLu OTP crumbling as he talked to Lisanna. To be honest there was also a pang in my heart as he avoided me but it soon disappeared as Gray's arms caressed me. He's... Warm?

Mirajane though, looked deadly as she stared angrily at her little sister. On spur of moment, Natsu turned in surprise to see why everyone went silent. As he did he probably didn't really stare at me, moreover Gray's arms around my body. He then glared at Gray with a deathly aura; consequently, earning a grin from Gray. Almost protectively, Gray pulled me in closer and his intoxicating scent filled my senses. In a spike of anger, Natsu shot up from his seat, fully glaring at Gray, but as he did Lisanna touched his arm and he suddenly looked at her stunned and confused. He probably doesn't even notice me anymore... He was probably just being stupid because his best friend was being carried by his enemy.

Juvia then came into sight. "LOVE RIVAL!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH ♥Gray-sama♥??!?!!!?!" She screamed from the top of her lungs. "Ugh. Please stop being mean Juvia. You too Mira! Hey Flamebrain!!" The ice mage screamed. Natsu immediately turned, riled up again. "Jealous?" Gray smirked.

WAIT... Is he just doing this to get Natsu riled up. They really do hate me! Unconsciously I pushed myself out of his grip in a fit of tears. Instantaneously, I fell to the ground in excruciating pain. "AHHHHhhhh!" I screamed.

SERIOUSLY!! HE'S THINKING OF HER EVEN WHEN HE'S ANGRY!?!

"Tsssss. Ahh! -sob, sob-" I cried aloud. Everyone stood on edge, waiting for one of the guys to do something.

Shocked, Gray learned down and grabbed me back up. "I'm sorry." He whispered to me softly, leaning down closely. It got to a point where his lips were around 4cm away from mine, that I sunk my head backwards. Stunned and embarrassed, I crawled away from him and stood firmly in place. Huh? It's not hurting? What's Natsu thinking?

I looked over to the Fire Dragon Slayer to see him death glaring at Gray, who still had his concerned eyes on me. I could also see Juvia with a look of murder sitting in her eyes. I gulped terrified. Luckily, a door slammed open and out walked Erza, Aquarius and Master Mackarov.
