Chapter 2

"Come on we're going back to the car." Calum said rushing Ashton back to the car.

It's been a week since the incident and Ashton hasn't felt any better. Since then multiple news outlets have been reporting multiple deaths caused by the parasite and every time  it's mentioned on T.V Ashton just feels even more anxious.

"- scientists have said that while they were working on a cure something went wrong which caused a person to gain abnormal abilities. This person is now on the loose and the police are currently on the chase." 

"Hey remember that chick you went on a few dates with;  curly hair, brown eyes, curvy?" Luke questioned.

"Yeah why- Oh. . . OH." Calum nodded catching on to what Luke was suggesting.

"Give her a call she's a pretty good nurse, atleast thats what she seemed like from what you used to tell me." Luke chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah I will." Calum mumbled.

Later that day Calum phoned Evie - the girl luke was referring to- and told her what has been going on with Ashton. When Calum asked if she could do anything she replied by telling him that she'd do the best she can.

The next day she came over with necessary supplies and inspected Ashtons health state, his face was still piping hot but he didn't feel as cold as before.

Evie had given Ashton some pills and by night time he was already feeling a little better.

"Thank you so much for helping, you don't know how much this means to me." Calum said with a small smile as he glanced at Ashton sleeping soundly on the sofa.

"Oh it's no problem honestly, you've been there for me so I'm just returning the favour." she chuckled. "Well I better head out it's pretty late." She said giving Calum a hug.

As Evie went to reach for the door knob she heard a loud crashing sound in the distance, as if there was some sort of bombing. Calum immediately switched on the T.V. to see whats going on, Calums face flushed white shocked to see the sight infront of him.

"Hey Calum whats going on?" Evie said pacing towards him.

"They're bombing buildings in the city nearby." Calum said clearly stunned.

"It seems like they're bombing buildings around the city, the government said that most of these buildings have been infected by the para-" and just like that the T.V. shut off.

"What's going on?" Ashton said groggily strolling into the kitchen.

"Ashton grab anything important, anything you need and stuff it in a bag we're leaving and Evie you can come with us." Calum said as he hurriedly started grabbing his phone, keys and some other stuff.

"What go where?" Evie questioned wide eyed.

"My mums house, it's not safe here." Calum said grabbing her arm.

"I think I'm gonna stay behind and go back to my family" she sighed.

"It's too dangerous to go back." Calums voice wavered.

"I'll be fine." Was the last thing she said before she exited the house.
