Winterfrost looked around. The whole forest was white. She had been running for a long time. Suddenly, there was a white cat that appeared to her.
"Who are you?" Winterfrost asked carefully, stepping forward.
"Don't you recognize me?" The cat said, backing away a step. Winterfrost studied the cat's familiar gray patterns. With a jolt of alarm, Winterfrost leaped back. This cat was her. But instead of the blue shining eyes that Winterfrost had, this cat had eyes of full blue with no shine or life in them.
"You... you are me... in Starclan..." Winterfrost whispered, looking up at her reflection cat.
"Yes." The cat replied, dipping her head, then raising it again.
"I am basically your test. I cannot live or die. Your body right now is in a state of shock. Starclan does not know whether to take you to them or not. So basically, you fight me. Don't worry, I cannot die. I have unlimited lives, and heal as soon as I die. So you will not be killing yourself if you defeat me. If I win, you are me and get to walk the path to Starclan. If you win, I become you and live inside you. We are the same cat, I'm not a demon. Just you if you where in Starclan. I will live inside you until you walk to Starclan. Then, I will be the cat that takes your form." The cat meowed, blue eyes seeming to stare right through Winterfrost.
"So basically... we are the same cat. And I win, you won't make a big effect on me." Winterfrost resited. The cat nodded.
"We should start, then?" The cat added. Winterfrost nodded and without warning, the cat knocked Winterfrost backwards. Winterfrost felt the cat's starry claws start to tear at her shoulder fur. This is not my enemy. This is me. Winterfrost repeated in her mind. What would I do if I where her? Winterfrost suddenly kicked upwards, sending the cat flying off of her. Seeing her chance, Winterfrost scrambled to her paws and pinned down the cat while she was still making sense of things. Winterfrost knew that if the cat won, she would become a Starclan cat. But she had to see Fireclaw again! With a burst of energy, Winterfrost raked her claws down the side of the cat's uncovered belly.
"I feel no pain, remember. Do not hesitate!" The cat meowed up to Winterfrost. Winterfrost knew that if the cat felt no pain, she would not be killed, so she didn't have to worry about never joining Starclan. Winterfrost felt her claws tear at the cat below her. The cat did not bleed, but shuddered. Winterfrost got off of the cat and looked at her. Instead of pain, the cat's eyes where filled with joy. "You won't have to join Starclan just yet," the cat murmured before glowing brightly. Winterfrost winced as the cat jolted into her. Almost as soon as it happened, Winterfrost opened her eyes.
