*God, this is the WORST. I'd rather be at home washing dishes than here right now.*, Satsuske thought to herself. The math teacher droned on and on as Satsuske's attention drifted around, while Peridot was intensely focused on her work. Students worked on basic algebra while the teacher repeated facts, and "tricks" that were really just the hardest way possible of doing it. Satsuske snapped back to reality as the teacher finally stopped talking. "Now using that trick, you should be able to finish before the bell!" Satsuske looked up at the clock. *10 minutes left?! I can't work that fast!*, she was thinking, worried about failing her first assignment. "Psst, Peridot. What's number 4?" Peridot let out a small gasp, "You're asking me to help you cheat?! I can't do that! You have to learn to do it yourself!" Satsuske sighed, "Then can you help me?" "Of course!" Peridot's "help" was just her writing the answer down and explaining it, which Satsuske didn't really care about. RING! The bell rang out, like a prisoner's jail cell opening. Before the teacher could even speak, the class flooded out of the room. Satsuske barely finished in time, being the last one in the classroom. She turned in the paper, and ran out to the hallway, Peridot instantly meeting her at the door. "Hey! Did you ma-" Peridot was shoved into Satsuske, with multiple students standing behind the shover. Jasper stood hovering, with Ruby and Amethyst standing behind her. "That's for not giving me your homework in English class you nark. I outta crack your nose for it." Jasper cracked her knuckles, as Satsuske helped Peridot up. "Hey, you better watch your mouth, or I'll have to shut it for you." Peridot gasped in shock, and mouthed "No no no!" Jasper got right in Satsuske's face, and smirked. "I like that attitude, you'd do well to keep it. You seem like the right material for my group, you want in?" Satsuske looked at Peridot, and she stood frozen. Satsuske looked back to Jasper, "Alright, count me in." Peridot put on a sad face, and Jasper bear hugged Satsuske, "Welcome to the gang, Sats!" Jasper walked away while Ruby and Amethyst pushed her along, with Peridot reaching out for her. The group approached Pearl and Lapis, who were talking to each other. "Hey, Satsuske, go up to them and tell them to take a hike.", She ordered. Satsuske, who didn't plan on making enemies, refused. Jasper frowned, and walked over to them herself. "Hey, fags, I don't like you two kissing in the hallway, so get moving. Now." Pearl and Lapis frowned and looked at Jasper. "Why don't you get your fat ass out of the hallway so people can actually get through?", Pearl said. Ruby and Amethyst stood up, and jumped in front of Jasper. "Hey, you better watch it or I'll beat your ass! Who do you think you're talking to!", Ruby said. "I'm talking to you now, you fu-". Pearl stopped, and turned to face Lapis, who was in tears. She ran to her, and comforted her. "Whoa, whoa, break it up, get to class already.", the janitor, Greg, said. Jasper scoffed, and walked off, while Lapis was still sobbing. Satsuske stood confused, and walked back to Peridot. "What did you just do to Pearl?", she asked. "I didn't DO anything! Jasper insulted her, and I was just watching." "Well you better be careful, you do NOT want Jasper as an enemy."

The school day went on, and the final bell for the day rang out. Student's flocked from the classrooms to the door, and walked and drove home. Peridot and Satsuske were sitting down, going over homework from English class. "Man, english class sucks. I don't know if I hate math or english more." Peridot smirked, "Well I think their both pretty easy!" Satsuske groaned, "That's because you're a teacher's pet, Peridot." They continued working, as someone came up from behind them. "Hey, is it fine if I sit by you guys?" Rose was standing there, smiling. "Oh, sure!", Satsuske said cheerfully. Rose sat down, alongside Peridot. They gossiped, talked, helped each other's homework, and fooled around. Pearl and Lapis were walking by, and noticed the group. "Hey, can we sit down here? We don't want to intrude though.", they said shyly. Satsuske laughed, "The more the merrier!" They all were sharing stories, and bonding quite well. Peridot talked about an embarrassing story, and they all laughed with her. Satsuske talked about moving to the big city, and her fear of being made fun of. They all hugged her, as Pearl and Lapis shared a story of how their first kiss. Rose talked about how she didn't have many friends, but is nice to everyone she meets. She also talked about having a crush on Greg, but they all laughed, and Rose chuckled awkwardly. Satsuske looked at her wristwatch and jolted. The watch showed 5:53. "I've got to get going, or I'm going to miss the bus home! I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Everyone waved her off, as she ran for the bus. She once again, barely made it on board, and headed home. She sighed and relaxed, and thought about the whole day. *You know, for the first day, that wasn't so bad. I at least made some friends, and one enemy. Better than nothing, I guess.* The bus headed home, as it passed a group of jocks also headed home. Jasper, Ruby and Amethyst were standing on the corner, and locked eyes with Satsuske. She stuck her tongue out at them, and laughed. Jasper stomped the ground, as Ruby and Amethyst tried to calm her down. Satsuske was still laughing as the bus arrived home. She climbed out, and let out a big sigh. "Finally, I thought that day would never end." She opened the door, her mother still being at work, and crashed on the couch. "Wake me up when it's time for breakfast", she said before falling asleep.
