"Satsuske, I'm home!", her mother rang out. Satsuske was awake, watching TV, when she ran to the door to greet her mother. "Sorry I'm late sweetheart, I had to check in with your father, and you know how that is." Satsuske sighed. She never really knew her father that much, besides the fact he was an alcoholic with issue staying sober. Her mother divorced him, but still checks up on him to see if he's alright. Satsuske laid back down on the couch, and relished in the new episode of her favorite show. It was a certainly bizarre show, called John's Crazy Escapades. She prefered western shows over the ones that aired in Japan. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. "Could you get that, I'm busy right now.", her mother said. Satsuske groaned, and walked to the door. "Hello?" Peridot, Rose, Pearl, and Lapis were all standing at the door, beaming. "Hey, you wanna go to the game? We don't really much care for the game itself, but it's a great place to hang out!", Peridot shined with excitement. She agreed to head out, but she let her mother know first. They headed out to the school yard, when they passed by another student. She didn't make eye contact, and hair covered her eyes. Rose stepped forward, and stood beside the shy figure. "Hey, are you Centipeedle?", she pondered. The student froze for a moment, then ran off. Satsuske shrugged to Peridot, "What was that about?" Rose smirked, "She's extremely shy. I've been trying to warm up to her, but she always runs off before I can." They kept walking to the game, and finally reached the field. It had just begun, and was already intense. Normally, Japanese schools wouldn't have sports such as football, but this school was different from most others, in the sense it takes after western styles of teaching. Jasper, the largest player on the team, intercepted the ball from a much smaller student, and scored a touchdown. She extremely boastfully taunted the enemy team, and insulted their tactics. The Crystal Gem team consisted of Jasper, Amethyst, Ruby, Bismuth, Garnet, and multiple cheerleaders. It was an unusually small team, but they managed to beat every team they've faced, somehow. "So guys, where should we sit?" "Up there!" Peridot pointed to the highest row of seats on the bleachers, and they migrated to it. "Alright, so have you guys heard of the new student?", said Rose. Satsuske laughed, "Yeah she's right here." She pointed to herself. "No no, the NEWER student! She's apparently kinda dangerous, because she got kicked from her last school for fighting everyone." Satsuske laughed nervously, "She shouldn't be a problem for us though. Why would she fight us anyways?" Rose took a more somber tone, "She enjoys picking on those under her. She fights to be at the top of the chain, and Jasper's not going to like it one bit." Everyone shared awkward glances, "Well, she won't be too much of an actual problem, I hope. What's her name anyways?" "It's Jade.", said a figure sitting 2 rows down. Satsuske looked down, "Who are you?" The figure stood silent for a moment, then responded, "I'm Jade." Everyone jumped a small bit. "You're the new student?! I thought you were arriving tomorrow?" She laughed, "Nah, I thought I'd show up early to get a look at the competition." She scanned around, and asked "So who's the big dog here? That one?" She pointed to the biggest person on the field, Jasper. "Yeah, that'd be her.", said Satsuske. Jade smirked, "Nice. I'll meet her during halftime." She walked off and left the others wondering what was going to happen. The buzzer rang out, like a deafening elephant's trunk. They watched as Jasper took off her helmet, her hair flowing down, and sat down on the bench. Jade came down from the stands, and stood behind her. Satsuske and the others couldn't make out what they were saying, but it didn't take long for Jasper to stand up and get in Jade's face. Jasper, who stood about 2 feet taller than Jade, clearly was stronger. She didn't really take into consideration however that Jasper is also fast, as she swung and socked her in the jaw. Jade was blown to the bleachers, and fell down. Jasper was about to pummel her into the ground, but the buzzer rang for the third quarter, and she scoffed and put her helmet back on. Jade spit on the ground, and walked off, most likely headed home. The others were looking at each other, wondering what just happened. "Well, she seems not so nice.", said Peridot. They all nodded in agreement.
