i am a strong reader and writer, constantly thinking about my own works or yearning to read another story. i think the art of writing is magical, telling a story for others to be a part of. i think of it as an art, an escape, for when i do not want to live my life i can live someone else's.
it's a reassurance, that someone else out there, is going through something also.
and i would assume most people here on wattpad, feel the same way.
but the thing is, because i am such an avid reader i did not notice what is happening around us.
literature is on the downfall.
reading used to be this activity that many people did on a regular, and now the amount of people listening to peoples stories are dwindling.
it actually crushes me seeing a phone light up someones face instead of the consuming words packed in books.
do you remember when people grasped their paper back books, trading books again and again to read a new story from a different persons point of view? when you had your torn book smelling like tears, and coffee in the other hand?
i remember.
and i won't let literature die without a fight.
