Moving

My phone dinged signaling that I had a text. I picked it up and it was from my best friend. Xander Newton. He said that he had big news.

Xander- I have big news!

Me- What!

Xander- I'm moving!

Me- Where?

Xander- Right next door to you!!😁

Me- Really?!?😊

Xander- Yup. The truck just pulled into the driveway!

I dropped my phone onto my bed and raced upstairs. I checked out the window and sure enough there was a moving van. I pulled open the door and ran outside.

"Xander!!" I screamed when I saw him. I ran over hoping he was ready when I jumped into his arms giving him a big hug. "You haven't grown up a bit since I last saw you." he exclaimed hugging me tightly.

My mom then raced out wondering what all the commotion was about. She rolled her eyes when she saw me and Xander because we always act weirder than normal around each other.

"So your finally turning 14 tomorrow?" he says to me. "Yup! I'm super excited!" I yelled jumping up and down.

Our mom's say hi to each other and they go in my house to catch up. That's how me and Xander met each other. Our mom's are bffs and they want me and Xander to get married so they can be related.

"So Maya, do you have any of that lime Gatorade?" Xander asks. I slap him on the shoulder and shriek, "You are seeing me for the first time in months and all your thinking about is your favorite Gatorade that you get only at my house!" He smiles at me sheepishly.

I run away from him screaming, " I have one left and you can have it if you get there first!" I run through the trees, across my basketball court and into the hangout. I shut the door and 3 seconds later Xander comes pounding in. He runs over to the fridge and grabs his Gatorade.

"Haha! Victory is mine." He shouts. I roll my eyes and sit on the couch. His eyes scan the room. The couch was in one corner with the tv across from it and the the door to the bathroom was in the middle of the wall and then of course the counter that went from one end to another with a sink, a fridge and my pizza from last night.

He opened the Gatorade and chugged half of it. "I missed this stuff." he says. "Then why don't you buy your own?" I responded. "My parents won't let me, around them I'm super fit and I play basketball and stuff but I love this Gatorade!" he exclaims.

We heard a knock at the door. "Come in!" I tell. My mom and Robin (Xanders mom) come in. "Its 10:00 Xander, time to come home." Ok, goodnight Maya" he says to me. "Goodnight Xander" I responded.

My mom leaves me to get ready for bed. I take a shower and crawl into bed, dreaming about Xander.
