Chapter 2

Naphtalia
P.O.V.

"Run Naphtalia before it's to late" says my wolf.

I look up to see that my ex-mate is angry and I start to wonder why because he's the one who rejected me in the first place. I turn on my heel and run out the front door hearing everyone yelling and screaming, which makes me run faster.

"Let me take over Naphtalia we will escape faster".

"Are you sure I ask her"?

"Yes now let me take over".

I let her take over and I feel myself start to shift and soon I realize their chasing after me in their wolf forms.

"Faster Sapphire faster".

"They will never catch us."

"I hope your right".

As I run across the border I feel my pack ties weaken and turn around to see my old pack staring at me in hate.
The ex-mate mind links me

"Naphtalia you do not know what you are doing. You will become a rouge."

"If that is to be my fate then I will gladly accept it."

With those last words I turn around and run from everyone and that has ever hurt me.I slow down and start really thinking about my decision. Did I make a mistake? Should I have stayed?

"If you had have stayed there would be nothing there for you but misery and self-pity".

My wolf has a point. My stomach growls throwing me off making me realize that I have no food. I wander around trying to find prey but don't catch the scent of anything. The sun is blazing and soon it starts to take a toll on me as my body starts shutting down. The last thing I see before I pass out is a pair of eye's watching me from a distance.

I open my eyes slowly the sunlight blinding me. I get up and see that I'm in human form. I look down and cover myself as if someone is standing infront of me or watching me from afar. I see the clothes I previously had on before I shifted and put them back on. They are torn and shredded but they are still good enough to wear. How many days has it been? How long was I out? What will I eat where will I find water? All while I'm thinking this I see a wolf partrol and decide to hide. I hid behind a big oak tree and as they get closer I start to hear them.

"Awww come on Artemis there's nothing out here can we just go?"

"No.Alphas orders Zac now shut it".

"Hey you guys smell that?" the other guy says.

My eye's bug out of my head. They can smell me!! Oh what to do what to do.

"Yeah I smell it to, it's coming from behind that oak tree" says Artemis.

I start crying as I hear them get closer and closer. A man who looks as if he is 6'0 with tanned skin and deep chocolate brown eyes with big muscles stares at me. I stare back wondering why I am not receiving a beating yet. The other guys come around the tree wondering what's taking their Beta so long and then they look down and see me sitting here with tattered clothes and bloody feet. The one I think is the Beta speaks first.

"What are you doing on our territory rouge?" he spits out

I hang my head low in submission and say

" I- I'm s-sorry s-sir I was just passing through when I passed out for a couple of days."

He speaks up again

"Well the law is the law you trespassed onto our territory now we have to bring you in for questioning, grab her Zac let's go."

I am instantly snatched up by another well muscled man with baby blue eyes and a kind smile. I am stiff in his arms the whole way thinking about how they are probably going to rape me and beat me. That's the only thing my pack didn't do was rape me. But their not my pack anymore I'm a rogue and now that I have crossed onto someone else's territory which means they will either torture me or kill me the idea isn't pleasant. They take me to the dungeons and throw me in one. I sit on the floor weak bloody and usless. I hang my head in shame, I'm weak and a failure,as I'm thinking about this a girl a couple years older than me walked in with spare clothes and shoes and some food she speaks up when she see's me looking at her.

"I convinced them to let me give you a change of clothes and some food because it seemed like you were malnourished".

I had to find my voice to speak.

"Thank you. But why are you helping me?"

"It is rare to come across a female rogue. Males yes,but a female that is slightly odd and everyone wants to get to the bottom of it.

"But why I am just a mere rogue,can't you just set me free and let me be on my way?"

"I'm sorry but we can't do that, we want to know why you are rogue and more importantly who made you rogue.

As she said this I hung my head because I chose to become a rogue, I chose to run away from everything I did have even if it was torment and torture. I chose this. So now I have to deal with it. She gave me the clothes and food said a few more words and left. I sat there eating the bread and meat that was given to me and changing into the new clothes. They fit perfectly. I was later provided with shoes because supposedly I was gonna meet the alpha,beta,and gamma so they could all question me about what I was doing on their territory.

Someone came to my cell door and I looked up at them and knew it was time. I got up walked to wear the cell door was open at and followed the guard. I was then lead through a beautiful pack house to come stand infront of a big cherry wood door. The guard looked at me as if to say "are you ready?" and I nodded my head once and he knocked on the door. The scent of spice and pine fills my nose.

"Sapphire do you smell that?"

"Yes I smell it, it smells divine it smells like mate".

"I'm scared Sapphire".

"Do not be scared Naphtalia I will protect you".

As we enter the room the scent gets stronger and I breath it in looking crazy in the process. I see a beautiful man sitting behind the desk. I gasp as I feel the connection.

"Mate".
