Chapter 7

Jessica's P.O.V

I woke up and saw it was 2 PM, was I really asleep for that long. I walked downstairs and avoid the living room. I saw Klaus and Rebekah in the kitchen.

"Burn it." I said and they looked at me confused.

"What?" Klaus asked.

"Burned Jonas's body. He wanted to be buried like a hunter so, burn it." I said and Klaus walked up to me placing his hands on both sides of my shoulders.

"Are you sure?" He asked and I nodded.

"I know my brother and this is what he would have wanted." I said and he nodded.

"When do you you want to do it?" Rebekah asked and I looked down.

"As soon as possible. The longer he's like this he won't find peace." I said and they nodded.

"Elijah!" Rebekah yelled. He came around the corner.

"It's ready, I heard every word." Elijah said and I walked outside with Nik. Rebekah and Elijah followed us and I grabbed a torch that Elijah just happened to hand me. Damn he really did hear every word. I walked up to Jonas's body which sat on a big pile of wood. I cried and laughed.

"Goodbye brother. I will always love you." I said and lit the pile of wood on fire. I watched it and cried. I felt a hand take a hold of mine and looked at Klaus. I cried and he held onto me in a tight hug.

"Come on love, let's go inside." Klaus said and I nodded.

*_Later that Night_*

I sat on the couch with Rebekah sitting in front of me. I just stared into the fire Nik had made in the fireplace. I felt someone wrap a blanket around my shoulders. I looked up and saw Klaus smiling at me. I smiled at him as he sat next to me. I laid in his arms and Elijah came back with coffee and handed it to me.

"Thank you." I said and Elijah smiled. I took a sip and Rebekah stared at me. "Go ahead ask what you've been wanting to ask all day." I said to her.

"How are you feeling?" She asked and I took a deep breath.

"Broken, shattered, falling down a deep dark hole that will never end." I said and Klaus rubbed my arm. "Will I feel this way forever?" I asked Klaus as I looked up at him.

"Over the years, I've had my share of friends, enemies, lovers, horse, and triumphs. In time, they all being to run together. But you will find the real moments are vibrant...The rest just fades away. Your pain will fade." He said and I shook my head.

"Not until I know who killed my brother." I said and he looked at me.

"And so you shall." Klaus said and I just rested my head against his chest. Rebekah and Elijah left me and Klaus to talk alone. "Jessica," I looked up at Klaus. "Promise me you'll never leave me?" Klaus asked and I sat up. I took his face into my hands and looked at him.

"Klaus Mikaelson you're an immortal Hybrid and I'm a mortal hunter. I will wither and die one day ok? But until then I promise never to leave you. But nothing last forever." I said and to him and he looked down.

"Without you there is no light in me." Klaus said and I shook my head.

"We've all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on, that's who we really are." He looked at me. "But hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." I said. He looked back down trying to avoid eye contact with me.

"I'm a monster." He said and I lifted his face so he looked straight into my eyes.

"No, you're not a monster as much as I'm a hunter. You didn't choose this life and you can change it. I believe in you, Klaus Mikaelson." His eyes started to water up. "Don't prove me wrong now." I begged him.

He started to lean in and kissed me. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. We pulled away and I rested my forehead against his.

"I love you Jessica." Klaus said and I smiled at him.

"That's step one out of the dark." I kissed him again and then pulled away. I looked at him and kissed his nose. "I love you too, my big bad wolf." I said and stood up.

"What are you doing?" He asked me and I looked at him.

"There has been too much crying and I'm tired. So, I'm going to bed." I said and walked towards the stairs. I got to my room and got ready then got under the covers. I was about to turn off the light when someone spoke up.

"So, you're just going to sleep in that bed by yourself?" Klaus asked leaning against the doorframe.

"Why do you care if I sleep alone in this bed?" I asked him and he laughed.

"I don't there's just one problem though." Klaus said and I looked at him.

"What's that?" I asked him and he walked into the room.

"This is my room." Klaus said and I rolled my eyes.

"Ok then get ready for bed and lay down, I really don't care." I said and turned out the light.

Klaus closed the bedroom door and got ready for bed. He came out of the bathroom in a pair of black sweatpants, that was it. I pretended to be asleep so he didn't suspect a thing. My back was facing him but I could still feel the covers move as he pulled the covers over himself. He wrapped his arm around my waist and my heartbeat quicked. He laughed probably cause he could hear my heartbeat.

"You ok?" He asked and I nodded.

"I'm fine." I said and he pulled me against his bare chest. Klaus kissed the back of my head in a loving matter.

"I'm never going to let you go Jessica. I love you, goodnight." Klaus said into my ear.

"I love you too my big bad wolf." I said and fell asleep next to the man I love the most.
