School continued like it did any ordinary day until I saw him.

He came to class so late and the moment I saw him I just knew that the awesome creation outside belong to him.

"....Lane Trent," he was introduced to the class as and he just moved here all the way from Italy. He had every darn person on the edge of there seats waiting to her him talk but his blue gaze only searched the room and then his eyes landed on me....

The world froze and every nerve ending in my body stood on end. my ears rang but there was silence. my entire being became numb but cold and I was paralyzed. I never felt this before but I knew what it was...my mate.

He looked away and the world resumed "...make him feel welcome even if it means I have another paper to mark," Mr. Ordin finished.

There were a few laughs. At that moment I wished there was an empty seat beside me but there wasn't the only empty seats were at the front.

He took his seat between the three empty seats in the front row exactly in front of the bitchiest of bitches Karlin.

Even though I didn't want to seem like a creep I couldn't help sneaking occasional glances at him.

Karlin kept on asking him questions and flirting with him...like seriously what is Italy like? she seriously couldn't think of a better question.

A low growl escaped me before I could stop it and I felt a few eyes on me.

"Are you aright?" Char asked and I forced myself to nod even though my claws were sunk into my desk.

The bell rang seconds later but it felt like hours and as much as I would've liked to throw my desk into the wall and then snapping that bitch's neck for touching what's not hers, scream and then storm out.

But instead I got up as slowly as possible and walked out. It was the hardest thing that I'd ever done in my entire life.

Lunch time finally came and I ditched Char and went to the loneliest place in school. The outskirts of Degraslin.

Degraslin is a forest that is supposedly haunted. Thank God I'm not afraid of ghosts. I was so far away from the school now that I probably was only a silhouette in a distance.

I climbed into a tree and sat on one of the highest branches. I pulled out a carton from my bag that was filled with the best drink in the world. I pulled up the straw and closed it back repeatedly before I raised it to my lips.

"You really should pay more attention," came a voice and I jumped making my bottle fall from my hands and to the ground. In that second it wasn't the intruder that mattered but my lunch falling to the ground.

When it was an inch from crashing into the now detrimental hard grass Lane caught it.

"You were seriously going to let that fall to the ground?" he tutted, "So wasteful." He climbed up the tree one handed before sitting beside me and handing me the bottle.

I took the bottle from him not breaking eye contact until my fingers grazed his.

I closed my eyes my senses going hay wire. I opened them after a while trying to control my harsh breathing.

"I..." I had no idea what to say. I went to jump out of the tree and get a far away from him as possible, it was a reflex, this is how I avoided most of my problems, by running away. But before I could fully turn he held my wrist.

"Don't," he said.

My mouth ran dry "It's not safe to be up here," I lied.

He smiled, "It's safe to be wherever you are," he said his accent wrapped around every word.

I think I have melted ... oh wait I think I've forgotten how to think.

"It's safer on the ground."

"You're afraid of falling out of a tree?"

Yes!!!

"No," I said aloud but he laughed.

"I've arranged to be seated beside you in all of our classes so we don't have anymore ... mishaps," He told me and at that moment I wanted nothing more than to disappear. He smiled when I blushed.

"I've been searching for you for such a long time."

When he spoke there was a bit of a longing in his voice but when I looked up at him from my gaze on my bottle but when I looked up he cover his expression with a smile.

"Will you accept me?"

"I don't know you."

"You will?"
