Jane POV
We pulled into the driveway of our new house. I saw kids playing our front yard.
"Mommy, what are those kids doing here?" I asked.
"What kids, dear?" She asked. They must've left when we pulled in. Oh well.
"Nothing. Jane is just being the little freak that she is." Ben said.
"I am not freak!" I wailed. I started crying.
"Ben, just because your sister claims to see 'ghosts' doesn't mean that she's a freak." My dad said. I don't just claim to see ghosts...
"Yeah!" I said.
"And Jane, you have to stop these fits. You're 13 years old now." He said.
"WHY DON'T YOU MAKE ME?! YOU THROW FITS ALL THE TIME BECAUSE NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE A LITTLE PERFECT THING!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
"But I'm a grown up. It looks bad on kids." He said.
"YOU AREN'T EVEN MY FATHER SO DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!" I cried. I ran out of the car and just kept running. I was at the side of the house and I slumped down. The rain hit my fragile body hard. My oldest brother Isaac came over to me.
"Hey, Lil Sis." He said.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Listen, I know moving is tough for you especially but I've never seen you this emotional before." He said. He sat next to me.
"You wouldn't get it." I said.
"I think I'd get it completely. There's a world for people like you and that's everywhere. The world for dad? His office. You're a terrific person that has a gift." He said. I smiled.
"You really think so?" I asked.
"I know so." He said. He helped me up. School started tomorrow and I didn't want anyone to know about this wreck. I was hoping to finally have a boyfriend maybe... So I can't tell that person.
-when we were all settled in-
"So, Jane... You planning on finally doing something with this 'super power' of yours?" Ben mocked me. I wanted so bad to use it... So bad to just beat the shit out of Ben with a table.
"Yeah, I'm gonna get your little head and--"
"Woah, ok." Isaac stepped in.
"Will you guys please try to be nice to each other for once." He said. I sighed. I looked in the corner of my eye.
"Why is that side boarded off?" I walked towards a opening covered by plastic.
"Dad said not to go in there." Isaac said.
"Dads not here." I smirked. I tore the plastic. I went in.
"It's just a stupid room." Ben said. There's more to this room. I can sense something.
"Ben, you're going to offend it." I said.
"Offend a room?" He scoffed.
"It's ok... He doesn't mean it." I said. I saw a woman crying in a corner.
"You're hurting her feelings." I said. I put my hand on her back. She was covered head to toe and in white skin tight wrap. No, not like a mummy, like a burn victim.
"Jane, you're insane." Ben said.
"Go away..." She whispered.
"Are you sure?" I asked. She looked over at me. No face. So that's why Ben can't see her...
"Go..." She whispered.
"Come to me when you need to." I said. I forced Ben to get out.
"So was there anything interesting in there?" Isaac asked.
"Nothing you'd care about..." I said. I looked back. I saw her staring through the plastic. I had an image. The image was me tied up on a post and her with her hands pressed against the plastic looking out. (Picture is at top).
"Okay." He shrugged and walked away.
She disappeared.
