I focused my eyes on the clean white sheet of paper in front of me as I tapped my pencil along the corner of my desk. A, B, C or D. I bit my lip trying to remember the notes in my pastel purple note book. I slid my pencil over option B bubbling it in. Last question? I'm finished. I look up from my test paper looking around the class room hearing nothing but the sound of pencils tapping and small hums from our teacher. I quietly stood up and walked to the desk handing in my paper.
"First one finished again Mr. Joon" My teacher says embarrassingly. I know I'm like one of the quickest learners but he doesn't have to announce it. Geez. I smile and go back to my seat, and I watch Jisoo stand next moving his pencil to the side of his desk before grabbing his paper and handing it the teacher. I look around the room and notice Seokmin staring off into space, I smile to myself at my disfocused friend. I look at Seungcheol who sat in the back of the classroom marking little things onto the desk without a care. I play with the loose strands of my hair that wasn't with the rest of the blonde locks of my pony tail. A knock on the door caught everyone's attention.
As the door opened, the same boy whom Wonwoo had walked to school with stepped inside. I hadn't really had time to eye the boy this morning on our walk with the conversations between my friends and I and the fact that he and Wonwoo had stayed up in the front. Except for that one moment when they stopped and it caused the rest of us to stop. It was really weird, I should ask Wonwoo about that later. Anyways, I took a second to look at his outfit a plain white shirt, jean jacket, black jeans that were ripped at the knees, black & white converse. The boy had brown hair and matching brown eyes. Our teacher then stands from his chair greeting the boy before turning back to the class.
"Class, this is your new classmate. Kwon Soonyoung, I expect you all to help him find his classe, when needed so. For now Soonyoung you can sit in the empty, while other students finish there tests"
Soonyoung bows before quietly walking to the unassigned seat.
Wonwoo's POV
Why does this Monday feel like I'm going to a fresh new school? Maybe because for the first time in 4 years I'm going to be walking through those doors with someone other than Mingyu? Between the thirteen of us Soonyoung and I kept to the front.
"So I'm assuming we're in the front because one of the eleven boys behind us goes by the name of Mingyu?" Soonyoung says to me as I walk quietly with my head down
"Yeah, he's the tall one with the blueish dyed hair" I pick my head up to stop myself from crying, as the thoughts of me running my hands through his hair as he slept flooded my mind. Stop thinking about him Wonwoo. You are stong.
Soonyoung pretends to wipe something off the shoulder of his blue jean jacket to get a glimpse of the love of my life, who literally is inches behind me. Soonyoung looks at me sending me a supportive smile and begins to ramble on about something I paid little attention too.
I look from the sidewalk to the road and the paint scattered about, separating lanes and arrows to where you can turn if you'd like. I watch the fast cars driving past, stopping at lights, turning signals flashing. In my eyes it looked as if all the cars went in slow motion, each after the other stopping between one another. The only thought that flowed through my mind as I watched the cars was frightening to me, but not frightening enough.
"How fast do you think a car can hit me if I stepped onto the moving traffic?" I said out loud enough for Soonyoung to hear
"Wait what?" He askes his voice now shaky
"Like how fast do you think I'd get hit and well I don't know, die?" I ask again my eyes still focused on the colored cars on the hard road.
