Chapter 4

Gray could have done without the loud rock music that blared from the gallery.

It was an alternative rock song from some boy band. Wall Stone was a ratty gallery that was run by some guy in his pajamas. It never brought in much money and there was art that ranged from 'sort of good' to 'painted by a blind cat with carpel tunnel'. However Sky loved the place. She was very critical by nature and made fun of the paintings and drawings quite a lot. There was an unspoken bond between them as they walked around in silence, the only ones in this part of the museum.

As he walked behind his sister, carrying the coat she had shoved into his hands upon arrival, he looked along the walls of pictures. Trees, bodies of water, and an abundance of naked women were all along the walls which were adorned with similar graffiti themselves. However one particular painting caught his eye and he stopped, making sure that his sister was in eye sight.

Probably most of the guys in baseball had made front of him when they had found out he was bi. Though it had stopped weeks later when Mr. Miller had pulled him out of a game to show them what it would be like if he quit the team; the crushing defeat had convinced them.  However he wondered now what they would think of him at an art museum with his little sister, then again, he’d trade his left nut before he cared about the opinion of a bunch guys who played a sport where the ball was smarter than them.

He studied the picture before him. He didn’t know why he found it particularly interesting; maybe it was because it was the best picture among the shitty collection. His eyes glazed over the smooth texture and flinched as he realized how much time it probably took to paint this particular work.

The picture depicted a pack of wolves on one side of the painting.  The biggest one was a grayish black color and stood in the front on its hind legs, its eyes blazing with anger. Beneath him was a man, and slightly behind him was a group of there men with guns. They all feared the wolf. However what marveled him was not the wolf’s display of strength, it was his eyes. The blue that reminded him of… no, there was no man made color for Jasper’s eyes.

“What are you a team Jacob fan?” he heard Sky behind him and turned to her with a smile.

“No, I’m…more of a team Jasper kinda guy,” he smirked at the hidden meaning. Luckily he had seen all of the current Twilight movies with Sky, she loved them; unfortunately.

She scowled at him. “More like team Dorkward.”

“Someone’s grumpy,” He smirked. He reached over and pulled the light blue scarf back around his sister’s head. She refused to wear a wig, she claimed that wigs are for old people and she definitely wasn’t one of them.

Gray turned his head when he suddenly heard shouting and cheering from down the hall.

“Come on, it’s starting,” Sky smiled cheerfully pulling Gray with all her might by his arm. He tugged his arm away and flexed it as if to show her he was strong.

“What do you say?” He smiled.

She froze, her face turning white and her eyes narrowing. “Do I have to?”
