As much as I like writing, I’ve never really been that into poems.
I was always told that the “perfect” poem had rhyming in it.
Well, I’ve never really been much for rhyming
Any more than I was able to master writing with correct timing.
Never could I make a line with a beat.
Or make a poem
Flow as smooth as a river
And count syllables.
Which is why I gravitated towards free verse,
A way of tricking people into thinking I can actually write a poem.
