Chapter 7: I Will Wait For You

I woke up the next morning, showered, brushed my teeth, did my hair, and changed into a pink short sleeved, knee length dress with white designs. I wore my hair down as always with a white headband and white heels. The heels weren't really high which I was glad for. Once I was finished changing Sally entered my room.

"Do I have anything planned today?" I asked with slight disappointment. Sally smiled as she shook her head.

"No you don't milady. That's all I came to tell you. Now please excuse me." Sally bowed and left the room. I turned towards the window and sighed. All of my thoughts were of Prince Wilfred. No matter what I did I couldn't get rid of the feelings I hold for him but the more I thought of him the more pain it would bring to my heart. I just want it to stop but...

"Lady Alana, you seem down today. Would you like to take a walk in the gardens?" I was ripped out of my thoughts when a maid had entered the room to tidy up. I looked towards her and nodded with a small smile.

"Yes, I'd like that." I left the room and went out into the beautiful gardens. I breathed in the fresh air and looked all around me. Everywhere I looked there were flowers of different kinds and colors. I made my way towards the hidden rose gardens. I sit down in the center of the garden at the base of the tree. I closed my eyes and sighed. Thoughts of Prince Wilfred danced in my head and it made my heart ache. I think I was in the gardens for quite a while because...

"Lady Alana! It is about to rain and you really should come inside!"Sally was calling for me so I stood up and exited the gardens. "Oh there you are! You really should come inside my Lady." Sally bowed as I nodded and walked inside. I decide to go see grandfather so I go to the library.

"Hello grandfather!" I said with a smile as soon as I entered the room. I saw that Zain was there too and smiled at him as well. Grandfather offered me a warm smile of his own as he put a book down. At that moment a man appeared and whispered something in Zain's ear. Zain then turned and addressed me.

"Pardon me, but it seems Prince Wilfred has arrived at the castle." Wait, what...?

"What...?" I was surprised by the sudden news and I felt another painful pang in my heart. By now my heart was jumping in all kinds of directions.

"Oho, I believe he has come for you my dear." Grandfather said with a smile. He didn't seem surprised at all as his smile beamed towards me. I began feeling a slight suspicion as I stared but I pushed that aside as I asked...

"He has come for me...?" My eyes were widened and my mouth slightly agape. Zain smiled softly as he asked...

"Will you go to him?" My heart wavered at his question and I was feeling unsure as to whether or not should I go to him. I really want to see him...but... No...! If I see him now it might only make things a lot harder on both of us... I looked up at Zain to tell him my decision but at that moment Prince Wilfred's face appeared from the back of my mind and my chest drew painfully tighter. I decided that I would change my mind so I looked at Zain with a slightly determined look.

"I'll go to him." I don't know if it's the right choice or not but... I yearn to see him. Zain nodded with a smile.

"Understood." As I was being urged to follow Zain grandfather spoke.

"You should be honest about your feelings, Alana." Tears welled up in my eyes as I answered.

"But I..." Grandfather smiled once again and spoke.

"Wouldn't you say overcoming hardships together is the real meaning of true love?" There was a lump in my throat and words would not come out. True...love... "True love doesn't mean everything is easy all the time. I believe it is about supporting one another when things are tough."
