*Elijah*

I walk by the french doors that led out to the pool, I pause when I see a figure standing against the wall on the far side. Her back is to my but I knew exactly who it is I would recognized those ebony curls anywhere. I quietly open the door stepping out into the cool night air, it is quietly just a faint sound of the night life humming in the distance. A small gush of wind calmly drifts through, causing her curls to sway slightly and her sweet scent to lazily float in my direction. I quietly make my way around the pool, standing in place beside her.

"You'll catch a cold out here dressed like that." I state taking in her outfit.

She wore a black tank top with a mess of white scribbles that made some sort of design and pair of dark green shorts that stops in the middle of her thighs. She makes the most ordinary clothing look extraordinary, I slightly frown at the color of her shorts. They were vibrant enough, compared to her eyes the color of her short were just a dull shade of grey pretending to be the color green.

"It's been a long time since I've seen the sky." She states, easily ignoring my statement.

She has such a soft-spoken tone, her voice creates a harmony that no musician could every imagine of.

"And how long was that?"

She gives a quick sideways glance at me, before returning her gaze to the sky. "Quiet a bit."

A faint smile crosses her lips, causing my heart to pause momentarily.  I just stand there watching her watch the sky after a few moment she turns to me. I awkwardly clear my throat looking to the sky, slightly embarrassed I was caught. She lets out a small giggle which causes me to look at her once more, sadly her eyes were staring at the forest in front of her. A small smile tugs on my lips as I return my attention to the empty forest in front of me. A peacefully silence surrounds us, the only sound is her steady heartbeat. She wraps her arms around her shoulders, letting out a content sigh. I easily shrug my jacket off placing it on her shoulders. She looks up to me a smile on her lips.

"Tell me Elijah have you always been such a gentlemen?"

I chuckle. "Yes, I would like to think so."

Her green eyes shine in the moon light as she give me a playfully smirk. "And here I thought I was a lucky one." She jokes.

I smile looking to my hands. "Perhaps you're very lucky darling."

She slips her arms through the sleeves of my jacket letting out a small laugh. "The amount of women you have picked up with your suaveness must be monumentally."

I let out a small laugh. "Please Ophelia." She looks up to me with a smile. "I am a gentleman remember."

She playfully rolls her eyes. "Oh like that's stopped you from getting laid." Her smile drops and her face quickly turns a light shade of red. "I can't believe I just said that." She state in a low voice.

"No, no it's quiet alright." I laugh. "A thousand years alive, I surely must have, as you put it, gotten laid."

She let out a loud laugh. "Oh god, Elijah stop."

I quickly join her watching her face brighten up with her smile. As the laughter dies down I find myself staring into her eyes once more. She slyly looks to her feet for a moment before meeting my gaze again. I reach my hand up to her face, gently pushing her hair behind her ear before rest my hand against her cheek. I find myself being drawn in my her eyes, my body moving of it's own accord as I bring my face closer to her's. I feel her warm breath fan against my lip, a piecing scream fills my head causing me to remove my hand and quickly move back.

"Elijah?"

I clear my throat. "Forgive me, but I must retire."

"Elijah-"

I quickly disappear, back in my room. My mind reminding me once again that I am a monster, as if I could ever forget. I quickly remove my tie, running a hand through my hair. I could never allow myself to be with her, I could never taint her innocence, her livelihood, her humanity with this dark curse I so heavily bear. My curse has destroyed and taken many lives, I refuse to add her name to that list. I slowly unbutton my shirt, letting my mind work over every mistake I have many it my lifetime. As I unbutton the final button I hear a faint knock on my door. I hesitant, hearing an all to familiar heart beat on the other side. I release a slow breath opening the door, a pair of green eyes met my brown ones. Her eye drift down to my exposed torso, quickly realizing what she is do she shakes her head bring her eyes back to my gaze. She wets her lips hold her hand out, which held my suit jacket. I quietly take it, the fabric crumbling in my grip.

"I apologize for earlier." I quietly state.

"Why?"

"It was rude of my to run off."

She lets out a small chuckle giving a quick glance to the ground. "For a moment I thought you were trying to apologize for almost kissing me."

"Yes of course I-"

"Elijah don't apologize."

"But it was completely out of line I-"

"Elijah, please." She pleads. I nod and she give me a small smile. "Thank you."

I couldn't help but return it, she is like a breath of fresh air. We just stand there for a moment, suddenly she leans up on her toes. Gently pressing her lips against my left cheek.

"Goodnight Elijah." She states with a small smile before walking away.

I smile,my finger tips gently grazing the spot on my cheek. "Goodnight Ophelia."
