Something was wrong. Ana knew it before she saw it. She had been training, methodically blasting the target dummy until it fell to pieces, when she felt a tingle in her gut. She holstered the gun and went to the door. What she saw shocked her.
Fire. Smoke. It choked her, threatening to pull her down. What she did next she could not be blamed for. Ana shifted into a wolf and began to methodically destroy the training area. It was mostly metal, so she had to work at the wooden pins that supported the supports. Because wolves do not higher up thinking capabilities of humans, Ana was not able to reason her way into thinking that if the whole town was on fire, alarms would ringing.
Wolves are also very much afraid of humans, so when a large group of people came marching into the training center, she panicked.
The people were just as surprised to see that a wolf was the person/thing/animal that was causing the issue.
"How did it get out of the cages?"
"Beats me."
"Let's get this over with quick before it brings down the whole center."
"Hey guys, look at this." The man had spotted Ana's clothes, lying on the floor where she had shifted. He picked up the gun and scanned the I.D.
"Says it's registered to . . . Ana Kimberling."
"The shifter?"
"More like sitter. She goes nuts with those visions and dreams. Can't do nothin' half the time. They need to take that girl to a thera, or put a chip on her."
"Don't talk that way about the bosses daughter!"
While this exchange had been going on, Ana had been slowly backing away. She bumped into a wall, and reminded the men of her presence.
"Well, I suppose there's nothing to do but tranq her and bring her back to the boss." He sighed heavily and lifted his gun.
"Wait!"
"Yes?"
"How are we going to explain all of this?" He gestured around at the half destroyed training center.
"WE don't have to. SHE does." Then he pulled the trigger. Ana felt the dart connect. She tried to run, but her legs had become rubber, and her head felt like it was a balloon. She tipped back and forth, and then collapsed.
