We have been out and about in the city for an hour or so. My arm hurts a lot and I was getting hungry!
“Almost to the place; it’s just around th…” Just as we were about to turn the corner a small herd of walkers had been stumbling around, totally oblivious to us. Jake was caught by surprise and made a shit ton of noise!
I wasted no time in trying to gank a walker. But my clumsiness got to it first. I slipped and landed in the arms of a walker, and I quickly tried to slice the ax through the stomach of the walker. But of course, it does nothing, besides making me fall again, with a body over me.
Just my luck! I believe it was a dog… but a shape had body-slammed the walker off of me. I stood up and the dog looked at me then barked. I slammed the ax into the throat of the walker, it’s head sliding right off. My experience had gotten worse due to my broken arm. Jake and Alyssa were just looking at the dog.
I kneeled down and held out my hand for him to sniff me. The dog went to me, sniffed my fingers, licked them and wagged his tail. I noticed he had a orange collar on, so I looked at his tags.
“Its name is Kujo.” I laughed. Jake laughed pretty hard and Alyssa tilted her head.
“Don’t fuck with Kujo!” Jake said which made Alyssa laugh. I looked around for humans.. but I didn’t see anyone.
“Hey Kujo, what’s up?” Alyssa patted his head. “It doesn’t seem he’s got owners.” She added.
“Can we keep him?” Jake asked. “I’ll change his papers, feed him, and I’ll teach him to do tricks!” He said in a child’s voice. I rolled my eyes.
“If he follows us, he can stay.” I felt like a mother telling her kid something. I rolled my eyes again and we headed off, soon knowing Kujo followed us. It put a smile to my face. Maybe humans ain’t the only things that need saving.
When we passed the plaza, we saw the University Campus. I glanced at Jake. This building had gotten my curiosity.
“These are the University Territory Buildings. Let’s check it out. I have a good feeling about this.” I said. I always asked for Jake’s permission. It was a must for me.
“Alright, make it quick.” Jake said. I nodded and advanced to the doors. Alyssa was on a watch out stance near the cracked and mossy bricks. Jake was on one side of the rusted, broken red door, whilst I was on the other. Kujo had sniffed around.
I opened the door and the lights had turned on instantly. The University was quite… untouched, for being unlocked and everything. The glass windows weren’t smudged, and there was just slight dust floating around. The ceiling was a good 20 feet in the air. It had merged up into a castle tower. It had a huge crystal chandelier in the center.
