We open up with me. It's 6:30 AM which means it's time to sadly leave my warm bed and begin another day of daily routines. Wake up, check. Brush teeth, check. Wash face, check. Clothes, check. It's a casual morning in the Marsin house. My sister, Lacey is still sleeping as usual and the twins are also sleeping. Mom and Dad are in the kitchen already in their work attire and having their daily cup of coffee.

"Morning honey. How'd you sleep?" This being also apart the daily routine question asked by my mother and I always have the same reply.

"Morning mom and I slept well."

"Hey did you happen to see if Lacey was up?" My dad asked me giving me a face like he already knew the answer to it,

Luckily I knew the drill. I grabbed myself a cup of coffee and head upstairs to wake up my sister. Lacey is a deep sleeper. After years of training though, I've mastered the art of Lacey Wake. A game really. I time how long it takes for me to wake her up. My last time was a minute and five seconds (1:05). I walk into her room and set the coffee on a dresser next to her bed. I rip the covers off of Lacey. Nothing. i open the windows. Nothing.

Then I pick up the coffee cup and take a loud obnoxious sip. Nothing, Last attempt. I pick up a lighter and light a candle. The candle lights and instantly the aroma of flowers, and coffee beans (Its actually a good scent) fills the room.

"LYDIAAA! Why did you light my special candle! Blow it out quickly before the wax starts melting and a weird like puddle forms." 43 seconds, that's a new record. I blow out the candle.

"Lacey get up you have to get ready for school."

"Okay."

I then turn around and make my way out the door when a pillow hits my back. I quickly turn around and Lacey opens up her mouth.

"That's for lighting my special candle." She mocks

I roll my eyes and walk out the door.

I walk to the front door and get ready to head to school.

"Have a good day." My Mom.

"Don't disappoint me." My Dad

"I will and when have I?" with that I walk out the door and start walking to school. My school is like a 10 minute walk when I wake up on time but I like to get there early and enjoy the quietness and peacefulness of a high school without high schoolers inside. I get to the school and see a empty parking lot, oh how satisfying that is.

A few months ago I found this ladder that leads up to the top of the school and found out you can get a perfect view of most of the town. Ever since that day, I bring my camera with me and take a few photos before the teachers start showing up. So I guess you could call that...um not using school property for not what it's intended for, but I mean, I get great photos from it.

Since I got to school a little earlier than usual, I was able to get a few pictures of the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was beautiful. But today everything is misty. Foggy. So I went up on the roof and took pictures of the mist and fog and such. I look at my watch. 7:15. Time to come down and wait for Mr. Kalawen.

Mr. Kalawen is one of the school's janitors. He's actually my favorite one because he lets me in 10 minutes before school actually starts- 7:25. We basically talk about what's going on in the world and stuff. He also buys me a doughnut and coffee every morning. He's a good janitor.

"Morning Lydia." Mr. Kalawen greets me handing me a Dunkin Donuts bag and coffee.

"Morning Mr. Kalawen" He then opens the door and we walk and talk until children and teachers begin arriving.
