The plan had been going perfectly for Jake.

When the building went into blackout, Jake clenched his teeth and started screaming. The guard came to see what the problem was and Jake started pointing to his eye. The guard leaned in close, and Jake knocked him out. Smiling, Jake reached through the bars and took the guard's keys.

Moments later, Jake met Builder and Jumper by the egg room. "Hey," Jake greeted them.

"Good to see you, Jake," Jumper replied.

"Great, we can get in now." Builder turned around and opened the door. When they had all entered the room, Builder turned around and locked the door, then blocked it with a block of steel. Relieved, Builder turned around and saw Jake throw up in the corner. He laughed.

"Jake, haven't you seen this room before?" Jumper asked.

"Yeah, but that doesn't make it any less disgusting in person," Jake replied. He walked back into the center of the room and looked around. The eggs were disgusting. They bulged with a pus-like substance and the forming children, and were covered with the same yellowed pus on the outside. When he spotted the wall of fully grown mutants, Jake waved Jumper and builder over. "Did you guys bring the clothes?"

"Yup. Seven outfits," Jumper replied.

"Good. Because they're hatching," Jake replied. He hurried to the eggs and Builder and Jumper followed, pulling clothes out of Builder's backpack. The eggs were moving and shaking, slowly breaking apart. Finally, one completely ripped open and out popped a boy only a few years younger than Jake. "It's a boy!" he called.

"Hurray!" Builder replied as he helped the boy get dressed.

The next one opened up with a bang and flash of light, and Jake looked away as he said, "It's a girl."

"Hurrah!" Jumper added as she dressed the girl.

The next one was blasted open by bullets fired from the hands of a boy. Jake greeted the boy and handed him to builder waiting for the next one. The next sac basted open with a flash of light and out stepped a girl with eyes that crackled with laser vision. Then one of the sacs opened with a lot of gnashing teeth, and a terrifying monster resembling a wolf popped out in front of Jake. With a shake of the monster's head, it became a she and Jumper clothed her. Jake turned back to the sacks and watched the sixth one open up and two boys pop out, one after the other. Jake shook his head in wonder while Builder made another set of clothes pop out of thin air.

The rush nearly over, Jake watched the final sack, waiting for the last person.

But nobody came out.

"Excuse me?"

Jake whipped around and saw a girl's head floating in mid air. "Uh, hello?" Jake whispered.

"Yeah...hi...where do I get clothes?" she asked.

"My friend Jumper, over there," Jake replied, nodding at Jumper.

The girl blushed and thanked him, then popped up next to Jumper to get her clothes. Jake shook his head and smiled at the eight kids. They were all sixteen, from what Jake could tell. The kids were hurriedly wiping the goo out of their hair and staring at Jake, wondering what would happen next.

"Hey!" Jake greeted them.

"Hey," they replied nervously. The girl who had only been a head a moment ago now stood amongst them, fully formed. The twins were talking to each other, obviously afraid to talk to anybody else. The boy whose hands turned into guns was staring at everyone else's hands nervously, and changing his hands back and forth from gun form to regular hands. The girl with laser vision was blinking rapidly, no doubt trying to control her lasers. The first one to pop out was waving his hand at the hair of the girl who popped out with a flash. He made her hair stand up completely on end, and when she noticed and whipped around to yell at him, he would let go and her hair would fall back in place. She clenched her teeth and the light bulb directly above him flashed. Every time she turned around, the process repeated. The girl whose face was a wolf-like one when she popped out was scaring anybody who looked at her by changing her face into a monstrous one.
