I comfortably position myself in my seat. I look around the bus – people were sitting comfortably, just like me. This is what I always wanted: a vacation after all those busy months I've been through. I close my eyes and imagine the place where I am going – the beautiful white sand beach, the beautiful sunset, the gentle breeze of the fresh air, the delicious delicacies in that place, the nice people living in there, Nathan.

I instantly feel uneasiness when I thought of that name. My mind starts asking so many questions – How was he? Is he okay? Is he waiting for my return? Does he still love me?

The last question makes my heart pound quickly. Our bus will soon take off and I am looking forward in returning to that island, for it is a paradise.

...

Exactly a year ago...

"Savannah, you're so slow." My best friend, Lizzie, told me. "Hurry up!" she said.

"I'm trying, okay? It's just that I find my bags heavy and I cannot walk fast carrying these things." I told her, emphasizing the last words.

"I told you not to bring so many things, it's your fault." Lizzie said.

I am Savannah Adams, your typical blonde girl. Lizzie is my best friend, since I was in grade school. Well, we've been together since we're little kids so we basically know each other so much. She's the type of girl who is very adventurous and very fun to be with. I am not like Lizzie; she's way more interesting than me. I am not that talkative to other people plus I do not have any interesting traits. I am just a simple college student girl with a girl best friend. I am pretty boring, right? Well, I am just living with my dad since my mom died when I was a little girl. I do not have a lot of friends and I am not like those cheerleaders out there. Yeah, despise me for thinking of myself this way.

We're here in an island, famous for a good tourist attraction for our summer vacation and luckily, for us, Lizzie's relatives live in here, so yeah, free accommodation. It's just the two of us. At first, I didn't want to go in this place, because it will just cost me money plus I will be tired because of the long hours of trip but after all the convincing Lizzie did, she made me agree to her. I also thought that it will not hurt to have a little vacation sometimes in my life, after all, I am a college student, sometimes I need to escape the stress school gives me.

"We're here." Lizzie said after like one hour of walking.

"I'm so tired." I told Lizzie and I followed her a few more steps and there I saw a small house. We were greeted by her aunt, the sister of her mother, and few of her relatives. We were given a room at the second floor of the house. We rested for a bit.

"Welcome to our island!" she said.

"Yeah, this place is beautiful." I told her while looking at the view from the window. Her aunt's house is near a white sand beach and I can see the beautiful sun setting in the west.

After an hour or so, Lizzie invited me to go swimming at the beach and she changed in her swimsuit so I did too. The beach was not that far so we walked from the house going there. The moment my feet felt the sand, it felt like I was in paradise! I could also feel the fresh air and the gentle breeze. Lizzie instantly went swimming with some of her cousins, I chose to find a place to sit, for I was not yet in the mood to go swimming.

"So, you're a first timer here?" a man spoke behind me. I was not in the mood to talk so I was thinking of answering him in a very sarcastic way.

"I –" I turned to him and was about to speak but was caught off guard. Standing in front of me was a handsome man and a boy, he got a nice body too! I found myself not able to speak properly.
