I just got back from holiday and I start work early, I'm having a bad day and I'm still working late into the night. Waiting out here for the next ship to come so that I could refill their fridges and cupboards, redo their beddings, and put more supplies into their weaponry closets. 'This time I can't wait to see the amount of things that have been broken' I thought to myself. I have a new crew to assist, I don't know any of them, and they had to arrive at one in the morning. The next ship is here and my friend who is not actually a friend but in a way we are... "Hey you, stop daydreaming and bring our food." That's my friend in a way telling me what to do. She's also the captain. She's Captain Lira. She mumbles a swear and turns around. I run for the food and the other stuff that they would need. "Here I got the food and everything else." I go to the kitchen inside the ship and find only two cups not damaged, about three cups chipped here and there, and four plates in one piece. Well at least this time they came back with something left in the kitchen. I open the fridge to find rotting fish and some other stuff that has rotted itself to nothingness and I couldn't even make out what it used to be. "Yeah that's how we live at sea, baby." Some random dude says to me. "I can see that and I'm not your baby." I say in an off tone. "Oh don't be hard on ya self-gorgeous, when you're done we could go out into that little house over there and have an hour or so of good time." He said and called me gorgeous, EW! "I don't know what you're talking about." I literally didn't know what he was talking about and I don't know what type of good time he was talking about. "I'm busy right now maybe later." I said. "What about you let someone else do the dirty work and we go...," he was saying something and thank god the captain came in at that moment. "You go nowhere." Said Captain Lira coming in. "I'm not going anywhere." I said to Captain Lira. "I'm not talking to you young lady, go back to work if you knew what's good for you." "Okay." God that was scary. I walk out of the ship and onto the deck of the wharf. I looked at the main door to the place of where my wet suit was hanging; I took a long breath and got ready to step into my swimming clothes and to put the tank that held the oxygen for breathing. I hate going into the water at night, you never know what lurks in the deep dark blue ocean. I hate my job and I hate my life for being so perilous. I walk into the room, wear my wet suit, and put the tank onto my back and the oxygen mask onto my face. I put the goggles around my neck so that it would be easier for me to put it on just before I go into the water, god I've done this a thousand times before but just thinking about it makes me feel queasy. I feel jelly or sore... I don't know maybe I got my period but I can't coz I just had it last week. Urgh I'm hallucinating, it's all in my head, I know it is, I always feel this way and what if drown, I don't even have a hero I know that would save me maybe that man who wanted to go out with me would save me if I drowned. Urgh he was a creep, like big time, he was ugly, gross and he ate rotten fish, like Yuk! I walk out onto the deck and find that everyone else is already there and was waiting for me. When they saw me, they shook their heads. I walk over to the cage and step in, I'm the first one into the cage and everyone is following me in. Huh that wasn't so bad maybe I'm getting used to this, I put on my goggles and look at the time and see that it's only eleven in the night. Good only until tomorrow, I'm free once it's eight in the morning. We are all in and they are closing the cage's main entrance, my heart is beating and my hands inside their wet suit gloves are starting to become sweaty. Whoa, I might have a heart attack, no I won't, think happy thoughts, think positively about what I'm doing. 'There will be sharks, there will be jellyfishes, there will be eels, there will...' "Are you listening to me small fry?" said the boat doctor who was actually a guy who came only to fix boats if they have travelled half way around the world. "Yeah I was listening." I lied. Someone said, "Oh really then what did he say for you to do?" "To watch his back." I guessed. "Ok good you were listening then I did say for you to watch my back because we are both going out of the cage and under the ship to fix small holes." Great we're welding! We were dropped under the water line and we started sinking slowly. I was breathing fast and it felt like I was suffocating, I was holding onto the cage like it was my life force and everyone was looking at me like I had gone crazy not going with the man like we had planned. I quickly got hold of myself, swam after the doctor, and found him staring at small holes in some places of the bottom of the boat. We used hand signs to talk to each other and were there for nearly one and a half hours we got all of the holes patched up and we tightened all the bolts and screws that were there outside the ship. It took us about another twenty-five minutes to check the whole boat to see if we missed something and thankfully, we didn't.
