I felt a tap on my shoulder and i jumped feeling a pull on my one of my buds. I looked to my right only to see Miles. Why wont he leave me ALONE!? I grinded my teeth saying "yes..". "Hey Manda, whats up?" Miles said cooly. I stood up putting my sketch book away and my other bud out of my ear. "Look, i really don't want any friends,especially you, you're just some new player out to get a good run, so run along to someone else because YOU aren't getting me" I walked away to the school. I needed peace, that's all i needed. "But-" Miles was cut off by this really high squeaky voice "hey Miles! Come sit with us!" I turned around and saw Kammy, i laughed and said "see, go to your slut friends". With that i left turning back around to the school. Stupid people. I walked out of the cafeteria as soon as the bell rang, I then started to make my way to my next class.

It was now after school and i was packing my stuff to leave home. I walked out of the doors and started walking to my house, i heard someone honk their horn and the same red car stopped next to me. The tinted window rolled down and there he was, Miles smiling at me "hey, its kinda cold and i was wondering if you wanted a ride" I shook my head "didn't i just tell you to leave me alone"
"Look, Mand-"
"DONT CALL ME THAT!"
"Amanda, i really want to be friends with you, just...give me a try, i promise I'm not a player and i promise i will not hurt you"
If only i believed him... That's what they all said, just by remembering.. I shook my head feeling my eyes water, i looked at the concrete and kept walking. Miles still drove next to me slowly, i heard a few honks behind him "just... give me a chance, whatever happened with you in the past.. I know it wont happen, please?" I kept walking and i said "no...". With that i wiped a tear from my cheek and ran. I ran as fast as i could, i didn't want it to happen again. I never want it to happen again. I turned and saw my house, i slowed down knowing my mom was working. I took out my keys and opened the front door, i walked in the living room then kitchen throwing my bag on the way, i need food! I laughed to myself grabbing the supplies to make a good sandwich. Uhm... Scratch that. I mean sandwiches. I made 3 and went up stairs grabbing a soda. I took my bag upstairs going into my room. I turned on the t.v, i was about to sit down and eat but i heard a knock on the door. I groaned getting up putting my food down on the coffee table, I went down stairs going to the door screaming "COMING!" I opened the door and saw Miles, WHAT THE HELL!? "Ohh my god, why wont you just leave me alone!?" I screamed, "Amanda, i reaalllyyyyy want to be friends, i will do anything, just, give me a chance!?"I sighed, I knew he was serious by how hard he was trying, the way he was looking at me.. I sighed looking down "okay...". Miles smiled and hugged me "oh my god, thank you! I will never leave you or anything! I swear" I was stiff by the hug. I haven't gotten one since 2 years ago.. Miles noticed and let go quickly "haha sorry, i just...okay, i got a little carried away". I nodded smiling a little, "haha yeah...", we stood there for a few seconds awkwardly "you wanna..uh... come in?" I asked rubbing my arm. Miles grinned nodding "yeah sure! That'd be great!" I made way for him to come in. "Wow... cool place, who lives with you?"
"Uh.. my mom"
"cool, i live with my mom too"
I closed the front door going upstairs,"i don't know why you want to be friends with me, its a waste of time". I walked to my room and he followed looking around, "i want to, i really want to be friends with you because you look like a pretty cool girl, i feel like...connected to you". I rolled my eyes, i grabbed the sandwiches off the table and handed him one "here, want one?" He nodded as he saw my arm he gasped. FUCK! I ignored him and gave him it. "What happened?" I sighed ignoring the question. I never really got asked that question, they probably understood how i felt, yet no one really cared.. He grabbed my arm and studied it, "what made you do this?" I yanked my arm back sitting on the love seat, "i don't want to talk about it" i said acting interested in my food. "Okay, you will tell me one day", i nodded. I only did because i was sure he was going to leave. I just knew he wouldn't stay that long. "so what do you want to do?" I asked finishing my food. "Hmmm i do not know, hmm oh i know! Lets go somewhere!" I sighed, "where to?" I asked getting up. "Hmmm i don't know, i moved here last week". I thought for a few seconds,"how about... a walk to the park?" Miles nodded and finished the sandwich, "lets go on an adventure!", i laughed as wrapped an arm around my waist. I got stiff for a minute and soon relaxed, i put on my beanie and my sweater going downstairs. I could feel warmth as Miles hand laid back on the side of my waist. I kind of liked it. We walked down the side walk, i was hoping i wont get too close... The neighbor was out sitting on her doorstep smoking a cigarette. She waved and smiled, i waved back smiling. "so which way?" Miles asked, i couldn't help but feel like laying my hea- Oh my god, are you serious Amanda? Calm down and get your shit together. I then said "once you turn left you'll see it". I smiled and i made him let go because i started running "last ones a rotten egg!" I scream. I hear Miles laughing behind me but soon i hear his steps fasten and pass me. I was surprised he was fast, but i can run faster.. I ran faster almost sprinting and passed him running to the swings. I sat on one and stuck my tongue out. He bent down resting his hands on his knees breathing hard "i-i didn't know you could run that fast!" Miles said between breaths. I laughed saying "i win!" swinging on the swing, Miles playfully glared at me and i laughed as,i felt the cold wind hit my face. Miles started pushing me and my beanie fell off. I laughed smiling. I haven't hung out with anyone in a while. I told him to stop and he soon went next to me sitting on the other swing. Swinging himself, i stopped swinging and started slowing down. "Hey, you wanna go to a nearby ice cream shop?" I asked, Miles slowed down he started thinking "hmm alright but we're going in my car, deal?" I rolled my eyes, "you and your dumb car". I laughed and nodded, "if you give me a piggyback ride on the way back", Miles nodded grinning showing off his dimples. he bent down and i hopped on adjusting myself. put my arms on his shoulders as his went around my legs. He bent down picking up my beanie, he handed me it and i grabbed it holding it on my right hand. I leaned my head on his back closing my eyes, i felt very comfortable here. I heard Miles laugh and say "you know what? Lets go back to your house, you look tired" ,i nodded sleepily not listening to him. I heard a door open and felt warmth, i smelt something cooking and i opened my eyes, "hey Anda where were yo-" i was put down on my feet and looked at my mom "oh hey mom, this is my...friend Miles, he's new to our school, we were at the park". My mom grinned, "hello! Call me Judy!" Miles brought out his hand but my mom hugged him. Miles looked pretty off guard and my mom said "oh gosh, its been so long since ive seen Amanda with anyone". I looked down embarrassed, its true. "Now, would you like to stay for dinner?"
