Everyone has bad days, but when the bad days start to outnumber the good ones, it's a sadness that not everyone can handle, and that's what happened to Amber Green. She wasn't even sure how it had started, but one day everything changed. Her friends? They slowly started to disappear, it was terrible, and the worst thing was, they didn't just abandon her, they turned against her. She couldn't even walk through the halls of her school without comments being made. People were telling her that she didn't even deserve to live. Amber didn't understand what she had done to deserve this. She tried to make new friends, but it didn't work. No one would even look her in the eyes. Eventually, she just gave up. She figured that no one cared, and that no one ever would. Her grades slowly started to drop, while the collection of bracelets on her wrist began to grow. What she didn't know, was that someone did care, he always had.

He saw this beautiful girl walk through the halls every day, with tears in her eyes. He heard his friends talk about her. He could never understand why they felt the need to say all those hurtful things. He had never seen her do anything wrong, in fact he barely ever saw her do anything at all. She seemed quiet, but he had a feeling that it was because every time she opened her mouth, the rude remarks just increased. It hurt Ashton every single, knowing that she was hurting, and that he wasn't doing anything to help her out. Ashton really wanted to be the reason she smiled again, and one day, he figured out what he was going to do.

"Emo"
"Ugly"
"Fat"
"Worthless"
Those were just a few examples of the insults that got directed at Amber every single day. She tried to give people no reason to notice her. She dressed like everyone else, she never drew attention to herself in class, and she rarely ever talked, but for some reason, that wasn't good enough. They still called her all those hurtful things.

One morning, Amber was just opening her locker, when she saw a piece of white paper, attached with a pink heart sticker. She opened the note, and it immediately made her day.
Dear Amber,
You probably don't know who I am, but whatever. I've heard all the things that people say to you, and it absolutely breaks my heart. You're gorgeous, did you know that? I can see how seriously you take those insults, and I just wanted to tell you that you shouldn't believe them. You don't deserve any of this. Stay strong♡ - A.I.
She couldn't hide her smile. Amber looked around, but she didn't see anyone who looked like they could've sent it. She grabbed her books and walked to class, feeling just a little bit happier.

He watched her open her locker and grab the note. Ashton noticed how her eyes widened slightly, as she began to read. He finally saw her smile, and he thought she had a really pretty one. Ashton turned around quickly, so that she didn't notice that he was staring. He felt content with himself, knowing that he had made her day, just a little bit better.

That night, Amber logged on to her twitter, and noticed that she has no new DM's or tweets directed at her. It surprised her, because usually people would bully her on twitter too, but she wasn't complaining.
She switched from her personal account, back to her one direction account. She looked through her mentions, and was wondering why everyone was congratulating her. Suddenly, she realized that it was because Niall freaking Horan had followed her. She couldn't believe her eyes. That night, she went to bed happier than she had been in a really long time.
