At the library....
The sight of book shelves calmed me down as I entered the library for my shift of the day. When I was arranging the books on the shelves, I caught sight of Alex reading in the corner through the gaps between the shelf and the books.
He was steadily focusing his grey eyes down the page with a hand tucked in his pocket of his jeans. Today, he was wearing a black short sleeved T-shirt and jeans. His eyes are so fascinating to look at that I got lost in those grey round pools. Sensing someone was staring at him, he glanced up and noticed me. I turned away totally embarrassed; my cheeks were burning.
"Victoria, hi! I didn't know you're here. Need any help?" He whispered clearly taking note of the heaps of books in my arms.
"Yeah, sure. Please arrange these books according to their categories which you'll find..... here." I tapped my finger on the bottom of the book bind.
"Thanks."
"While you're at it, I'll have to check the astrology room on the second floor to the right. If you need anything, I'm there."
It is nearly closing hours so I have to check whether everything is in order. After the room has been checked through thoroughly, I glanced around it. I find peace and solace in this room whenever stress seems to get the better of me.
The peculiar thing about me is that I always felt the urge to waltz alone when there's no one here. I feel like Cinderella waltzing in the dark except without any glass slippers of course.
Right now, I have the urge to do just that. With my hands pretending to hold a partner, I glided across the room twirling dreamily. Nearing the end of the dance I spun around one final time with of my hands above holding my partner's imaginary hand and the other behind my back only to be met by Alex standing in the doorway.
He applauded walking towards me and remarked, "You dance brilliantly except that you'd do well with a partner. Allow me." He held out his hand and smiled.
I just stared at him dumb folded. This is getting awkward. Me dancing with Alex?
As if reading my mind he beckoned, "Come on, I won't bite."
"Ok" placing my hand in his.
A tingling sensation swept through me which I believe that he must have felt it too.
Shaking away the thought, I allowed him to lead me.
"We'll g in a zigzag pattern, starting from where we're standing. Move front to the left 45 degrees..................... turn.............go right 45 degreees............... finally turn......." (Please check the video link in this chapter).
His face and mine were so close that it was only inches apart. I could hardly breathe only to be released by the entrance of the cleaning lady.
He snapped back into reality blinking his eyes and mumbled, "Sorry........" breaking apart from each other's arms.
"We should go. It's getting.....late." Blushing all over I left the room.
At Tyler's party..............
I walked up to the porch of Tyler's house in short jeans, boots, sneakers, a turquoise blouse, some accessories-small diamond fancy earrings, bracelets, a swish of eyeliner and a dab of lip gloss.
Ryan looked pretty awesome tonight in his jeans and long-sleeved buttoned up black shirt. His hair was in a messy fashion which I think that the girls would die for.
Anyway, I pressed the doorbell to be ushered in by Tyler. The blaring music hit us as we walked into the living room. People were partying around Tyler's indoor pool. There is a DJ playing some songs. Right now, it is playing Titanium by David Guetta featuring Sia.
I just love dance music. At the edge of the pool, I spotted Nina with her music class buddies. She looked pretty smashing too, quite different from her usual self.
"Hi! Nina!. I didn't know you would be early."
"Yeah. Just came right after class. You enjoying the party?"
"Totally."
We were interrupted by Brad who was holding two punch glasses.
"Hey, Vicky!. Glad you made it.......... Wow... you look amazing." He flashed his famous smile.
" Thanks." I blushed lowering my head.
" Have a drink? It's punch." He yelled over the music.
"No, Thanks. There might be alcohol in it. I'll just grab a fruit juice. Where can I get?"
"I'll show you the way. Follow me." He offered me the crook of his arm.
I turned to Nina. "Be right back. You too, Ryan." I took Brad's arm and left.
When I glanced back, I noticed that Ryan was frustrated about something and Nina was trying to calm him down. Whatever could it be?
"Here it is. Grab any drink you like. From pineapple juice to beer." He swished his hand from one side of the table to another.
"No beer. Just juice. I think that I'll take that." I took some orange juice from the tap and drank it in one gulp. God, I am that thirsty.
"Care for a dance?" He offered my arm and we joined the others on the dance floor.
The music changed to the tune of "Where them girls at?" by Florida. I could feel myself losing to the music while holding Brad's hand. It was awesome. However after dancing for like half an hour I grew tired so I took a break leaving Brad on the dance floor with some other girl.
I walked over to Nina, to find that Ryan was alone.
"Hey, Ryan. Why aren't you dancing? " Double-checking his face, I realized something is wrong.
"Follow me. We need to talk." He grudgingly said.
He searches for a vacant room and found one. It is a library so there seems to be no one.
With a hurt expression he turned to me, "Do you realize what you're doing, is hurting me?."
Shocked, I stuttered "What do you mean by that? I have no idea what you're talking about."
He runs his hand through his hair, "Haven't you noticed my behaviors? Now you've got a makeover, Brad has finally seen you. I can't believe this." With his hands balled into fists, he stepped towards me as I step back to be backed up by the wall.
He continued as he placed both hands on my shoulders, " I can't keep my feelings bottled up anymore. Victoria, ever since childhood I've been crushing on you and now I'm in love with you. I love you with every fiber of my being and sorry......" his eyes flew to my lips, "for doing this." He gently pressed his lips upon mine. My eyes widened in amazement. OMG!, Ryan just kissed me!
Enjoy it?
