"Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy!" I exclaimed as I bounced Emma on my lap. She giggled continuously, and it was contagious. I looked over, and Mike was smiling at me.

"You're so great with her," he grinned. I smiled, and Emma played with my hair.

"Pretty hair, Auntie Pheebs," she squeaked.

"Why thank you Emma!" I grinned and kissed her nose.

"I know you try to avoid it, but how do you really feel about having kids?" Mike asked me.

I hesitated.

"To be honest," I started, "Im scared. When I was pregnant with the triplets, I got so attached, and it took everything for me to give them up. Every time I think about pregnancy, I get paranoid that I'll have to give them up too. I know it's silly, but I can't seem to shake the thought."

Mike took a deep breath.

"I understand how hard it was for you," he said calmly, "I really do. But this is different. You did that for your brother; they were his kids. This time, when you get pregnant, they will be our kids. Ours. We're not going to give them up. I promise you that. They may not be with us forever, but they will still be ours. It will be our family."

He kissed me softly on the cheek. Something in his words woke me from my previous belief. Hearing it from someone else made the words ring true. I grinned, and he grinned back. I leaned into him; my lips latched onto his with little effort. He held onto my face with one hand and smoothed it as he pressed against my lips. Emma attempted to butt in; we pulled away quickly. She poked her fingers on her cheeks.

"Me kiss!" she exclaimed. Mike and I laughed and we each took a cheek. Emma beamed, her eyes squinting and her mouth showing off her beautiful smile. I grinned as she hopped off my lap to play with her toys.
