Alexandra's POV

No no no. What was I thinking? I only get one mate in this life. I don't even know if I'll live another life! And...and the Moon Goddess never makes mistakes. She had to be certain when she decided to pair Xander and I together.

Mates aren't some joking matter. They are the destined one for each individual wolf. To love and to cherish for the rest of your life. They are probably the only ones who can really put up with your idiocy, rants, sad times and your crying. Mates are the only one who will love you unconditionally. No matter what situation you are in. They help you see things even in those foggy mists; the only one who can calm you down with just one touch. That one special magical touch.

I can't let others influence my decision. Hell, I can't just reject him whenever I like it. This was serious talk.

I looked at Ronan.

Just buy me some time.

Rejecting Xander is still an option but I'll just put that aside for now. I still need time to think and process the events of today though.

How long? You know—

I cut him off. Yes I know. Maybe one month?

Ronan stared at me.

That might be too much to ask for.

I looked back at him blankly. I totally forgot that we weren't the only existing ones here. There were still Xander and Ronan's pack members here. After all the silent looks Ronan and I were giving each other, by now everyone knew that we were mind linking each other. Xander didn't seem to appreciate this because before I could reply he shot Ronan a menacing look.

"Leave my pack territory now and all will be fine. I won't press any charges against you for the many rules you have broken."

Ronan's face was expressionless as he spoke to Xander. "At least let me bring Alex back first."

"Why?" Xander looked at Ronan, incredulous that he would even suggest such an idea.

"Perhaps you would like the time to settle her pack transfer first and at the same time give her some time alone," Ronan answered.

The last few words caused Xander to clench his fists. "She will not be alone. She will be with me where she belongs."

I was just silently watching the exchanging of tense words. Oh this was getting intense!

Reyna didn't appreciate the fact that I was fine with Ronan speaking to our mate like that.

"At least give her some fresh air before she decides to move in with you," Ronan said impatiently.

"There's no need for that. I have an equal, if not, higher amount of fresh air here at my pack. She can sniff and smell the air to her heart's content," Xander's muscles were expanding and contracting right now. His patience was running out as well.

Was that his attempt at making a joke? I tried my best to contain my laugh.

Ronan didn't seem pleased with Xander's blunt insult. "The air in my pack is the one she's been sniffing ever since she started breathing."

"Well then it's time to change the air isn't it?"

Ronan clenched his teeth while Xander's veins were protruding out.

Both guys were staring intensely at each other, never letting their glare leave the other.

It makes me somewhat happy that they were fighting because of me in some way, but I felt that I was needed to help stop the possible incoming death wishes.
