Alexandra's POV

*5 days later*

"Happy Birthday Alex!"

Boy did I get one hell of a shock when I walked down the stairs of the pack house and towards the kitchen.

As I ascended the steps Ronan ran towards me and engulfed me in a hug. "Happy Birthday my favourite girl," he whispered in my ear.

I smiled at him. Ronan was the Son of James Patterson, the Alpha of the pack. And he was devishly handsome. He was going to become the next Alpha once his twentieth birthday comes in the next two months. We used to date when I was fifteen and he was seventeen but we broke it off not only because we knew we weren't mates but we realised we loved each other as a Brother and Sister and not as a couple. Besides, that relationship seemed more like an infatuation than something serious.

"It's Alex's birthday!" Isabella ran towards me and engulfed me in a leg hug.

What? Don't look at me like that. She was only tall enough to hug my legs. Oh I know what you are thinking. No they are not smelly and nope, definitely not hairy. I shave, alright?

"Alex," my mom said and she smiled warmly at me as I walked towards her and dad.

Oh how I love my birthdays. My parents always have the decency to relax a little on work on this day and spend time with the family. Like gosh, finally. They are always so busy that anyone might just mistake them for the Alpha and Luna of this pack. You need to take a break, relax and have fun.

Dang it! That scene again.

"Happy birthday darling," my dad smiled.

"Oh you've grown up so much! Look! Curves in all the right places! Oh I'm so proud!" Ronan's mom, Lilliana said as she hugged me tightly, literally crushing all my bones into pieces.

Lilliana was always there for me when Mom was too busy with work. She's my second Mom, like seriously. What would I do without her? She treated me as her own, she always told me.

Alpha James too wished me Happy Birthday before we all sat down to have breakfast.

"So...Alex," Lilliana started.

I looked up from my bowl of fruit loops and looked at her expectantly. "Hmmm?"

"You are officially eighteen!" She squealed.

I laughed at this. She was such a teen at times. But I sensed some seriousness in her voice. So I stopped laughing and looked at her before glancing at the other adults. They all had a grim expression on their faces. Wait, what were they talking about behind my back?

"And you have not yet found your mate," my Mom stated.

Oh. Oops?

It's not really my fault that most werewolves find their mates when they turn sixteen—the age when they are capable of sniffing out their mate's scent. Besides, it's only been two years. What's the hurry?

"So? Maybe my mate has not yet turned sixteen. Relax," I said, trying to make them stop talking about my mate.

Alpha James gave me a quizzical look while Dad gave me a doubtful one before saying, "I highly doubt so Alex. The males are mostly the older ones in the relationship, not the females."

"Maybe the Moon Goddness had different plans for me?" I tried reasoning.

"No. Alex it's almost impossible. I have not yet seen such a combination," My mom said.

"Okay okay. But let's not forget the keywords almost and yet," I smirked triumphantly.

Lilliana raised her eyebrows. And that's when I realised Ronan was silently watching the conversation while Isabella ran round the living room with her teddy bear, Mr Thomas.
