A Letter To...

Dan and Phil

Dear Dan Howell and Phil Lester,

First off, my name is Alexandria but you can call me Ali. How are you guys doing? I am just a little fangirl in a world of fans. But that is not important because I wrote to you for a reason. Your purpose in this world. You have more than you know. So let's get started!

Purpose #1: To be an Inspiration
Dan, when you made one of your first videos you said that you always wanted to make them, but you didn't have the motivation until some good friends of yours inspired you to do so. Phil, you were pretty much his inspiration. See? You were already inspiring people to the point of changing lives. I am just like you were, Dan. I kinda want to make YouTube videos, but when I turn on the camera, I don't know what to say. But you guys are helping me discover words I never thought were there. You guys have inspired so many people like me to do great things like make videos, actually go outside, and even stay alive and well, but we'll get to that later.

Purpose #2: Make people Smile
Whenever I click onto your videos, I already feel better, like just going onto your videos has lifted a weight of my chest. Whenever I feel like I'm about to do something that'll leave scars or just break down crying ill watch a whole bunch of your videos, most likely all your PINOF videos. Afterward I feel untouchable. Or when I'm scared or can't vote to sleep, I'll watch Phil's "I can't sleep videos" or Scary Game videos with Dan screaming and falling off of chairs and Phil laughing as he does so. I watch those and relax, smiling. You guys are such adorable smol beans, that I'm sure a lot people follow this logic, but probably not the same video type. Watching Dan and/or Phil and ending up smiling. Do you know how many people you've pulled out of a sad streak just by being yourselves? Neither do I, but I know it's a lot!

Purpose #3: Love Yourself
Remember back in purpose #1 how I said you were an inspiration to keep living? Yeah, we're talking about that now. Dan and Phil, I've never really thought that I had any redeeming qualities. I always thought I was ugly, stupid, annoying, and just plain weird. I hated myself. But I realize now that I'm not any of those things, nobody really is! Okay, so we are all weird, but in the best ways possible! Some people hate themselves to the point where there is no point. They show this in differentials ways. Cutting, Starving, Bullying,...

Dying.

I've seen a video where ten people hold up signs saying 'thank you're to you guys. You do know that you have saved hundreds, thousands, maybe even MILLIONS of people, all just by turning on a camera and being yourself.

Dan Howell and Phil Lester, if you taught me anything it's that no matter what somebody thinks, says, or even does, everyone is beautiful. Everyone is special. Everyone is amazing, even though they are not on fire. Thank you.
