My Final Best Friend

Dear Jennifer,

Hey. I've been friends with you forever. Since fourth grade. Now we are almost Freshmen! That's a long time. Long enough for me to notice a couple things about you, good and bad. Let's start with the bad so we can end this on a high-ish note.

I've noticed that sometimes, whether you know it or not, you can be a little mean to me. Like backhand compliments or snarky comments. Like if I say I didn't want to do some form exercise or practice a sport you might say "but I know you need it" or something like that. It's okay, I know you mean well, but it can hurt sometimes. Just saying.

Also, sometimes you can over-react to something you misheard or misinterpertated. Like remember that time you said an eighth grader dating a seventh grader is wrong. All I said is if they actually like each other, I don't see a problem with it. You FLIPPED. I didn't understand why. You stormed off, leaving me with Madison, wondering what I did wrong. You forgot about it five minutes later. You did that a lot.

You can make it seem like you did nothing wrong. Especially towards your parents. Like when you were mad at me. In the middle of the fight I decided to warn you about the partners activity the next day, as I promised I would. You said you didn't care and said you only used me to get close to Madison and Kamryn. Then you showed your dad our argument, but not ANYTHING YOU SAID TO ME. Your dad hated me. But you hurt me then more than you could know.

But you have redeeming qualities. You are very loyal. You can be protective. You tell amazing stories. You (along with Madison) introduced me to Dan and Phil and Panic! at the Disco. That counts as ten good things. You are usually free anytime. You are nice. You are very sarcastic and usually laugh at my corny and outright bad jokes. You made sure I wasn't alone during fourth and fifth grade (along with Mackenize). You were one of my best friends for almost five years. Thank you.

I should probably wrap this up, as this is going on and on. Anyway, Thanks.

Love ya,

Ali
