Yadirah
It was in May when he finally showed up.
"Would you look at that?" The voice sounded eerily familiar. I didn't have to look twice to know who it was. For the last few weeks, the weather was nice and warm. Although it was still a little cold, Suwaydah would beg me to take her to the park practically every day for the last two weeks. "It's Yadirah." I stared ahead, watching for Suwaydah who was playing with her friends on the swings without a care in the world.
When I didn't reply to Nouman, someone stood before me, blocking Suwaydah from my view. When I looked up from the bench I was sitting on, I realized it wasn't Nouman. Nouman stood a few steps further away.
"What do you want?" I asked. I narrowed my eyes and found Suwaydah running for the slides.
As long as I don't let her leave from my sight... We should be fine.
When I looked up again, I saw a girl, wearing nothing but black. Even her long, straight hair was black. She wore a black jacket zipped up, with black jeans as well.
I stood up, and the girl stepped back a few steps to give me space instead of towering over me. She was the same height as me. Her face was straight. There was no expression. If anything, she looked like she was frowning a bit.
"This is her?" She asked, a little disappointed. "To choose her as his wife... he sure has changed." Nouman nodded.
"Indeed, Indeed." Then she turned to him.
"But for you to choose her...." She began.
"He didn't choose me. It's a lie." I cut right in. She turned to stare at me, yet again expressionless.
"Come on, Yadirah. Don't try to hide it." He said, jokingly.
"If anything, you're a creepy stalker, and I've never once showed an ounce of interest in you. So you can either cut the act or play the stalker role." Suwaydah was now staring at me. Nouman looked over grimly at the girl he brought.
"Go." He said. She turned around and made her way to my sister. I turned to Nouman with my eyes wide open.
"What are you doing?" I asked, trying not to show the shock in my face.
"You have two choices. You can do as I say and keep your sister, or you could disobey me and lose your sister. What will it be?" I turned to where Suwaydah was, and she was now playing with the girl. She let her guard down because she thinks the girl is a friend of mine... I pushed Nouman to the side roughly, and made my way to Suwaydah, and grabbed her hand tightly.
"What are you doing?" Suwaydah asked.
"We're going home." I said. She sensed the fear in my grip, and said bye to the woman that came with Nouman. Before we could leave the park, Nouman grabbed onto my hand.
"We're letting you off this time because it's obviously a place for children. But next time it won't be that easy."
"There won't be a next time." I replied, dryly. Nouman laughed. "You're all talk. No action." I pointed out. But sadly, his psychotic self did scare me.
"It's okay. I can keep feeding your husband more of those lies till then." That made me stop from walking off. I turned around to face Nouman.
"What do you want?" I asked him.
"Now, you're ready to listen to me?" He asked. By then the woman was standing next to Nouman. She smiled down at Suwaydah. Suwaydah didn't get smile back, realizing the woman was not my friend. I didn't answer. "Tell your husband about our past."
