We arrived at school and I went to my locker. Soon, I spotted Lucas. "Hey huckleberry." I greeted. "Hey Maya." "So, whats new?" I asked. "Well I have a plan to shock my future girlfriend." He smirked. I was confused at his statement. "Future girlfriend?" I asked. He grabbed my waist and placed his lips on mine. I kissed him and wrapped my arms around his neck, but quickly pulled away as we were in the middle of the hallway at a public highschool. "Meet me in the janitors closet in ten minutes." I whispered. He grinned and I went to class. As usual, class was boring. Riley Lucas and Farkle weren't even there. I looked around and raised my hand. "Yes Miss Hart?" the teacher called. "Um, can I go to the restroom?" I asked. "Is there a reason you didn't use the restroom before class?" she asked me as if I was three. "I'm um having some girl problems." I lied but I knew that would convince her. "Fine."

she dismissed me and I ran to the janitor's closet where I found Cowboy waiting for me. I grabbed his face and shoved my lips into his. He kissed my neck but was careful not leave any mark. All of the sudden the bell rang and we both left and headed to the next class. School was soon over which I was happy about but then I had to go help clean up another park. It seemed it was never going to be finished and I had a step dad to get to. Finally we finished and it was past seven. I rushed home as fast as I could. I burst through the door and found Shawn and my mom making out on the couch.

"Am I interrupting anything?" I asked. I knew I was I just wanted them to stop. "Maya!" Shawn yelled excitedly. I ran over to hug him. "It's eight, what time did school end weren't you supposed to be back by four?" he asked, confused. I pursed my lips "about that... I kinda, well covered a park with graffiti and smashed a statue. And then was caught by the police so now I have to finish 100 hours of community service..." "You smashed a statue?! Maya what the hell were you thinking?!" "I don't know!" I yelled. "You do know and I want to know now!" he replied in anger. "Great welcoming after not seeing me for three weeks huh?" I said and left to my room. I heard my mom talking to Shawn. She told him what happened and I heard him ask, "who was the boy she went insane for exactly?" Ugh, great now he's never going to let me near Lucas and that's disappointing because not only am I kinda in love with him but he's a really good kisser.

I heard footsteps outside my bedroom door and a knock. "Go away!" I replied to the knock but Shawn came in anyway. "Maya, I'm sorry for getting so upset. I know highschool can be hard, and so can well, boys." He sounded sincere. "Ding ding ding." I responded sarcastically. "Don't talk to me like that. Well if this Lucas guy made you so mad as to vandalize a park, I don't want you going near him anymore." I sighed, annoyed. "I knew you were going to say that. You're going to keep from someone I really like just because of a stupid mistake. I get it, I'm stupid why can't everyone just let me do I want?!" I asked, which was supposed to be rhetorical but Shawn soon answered, "because you go and smash things!" "So I'm grounded, I have to 100 hours, I have to scrape gum off school desks and now I can't even talk to the guy I like. Anything else you want to ban me from? How about sunshine.... or water?" I said extremely sarcastically. "Maya, don't take that tone with me! I know you're upset but I will not have you disrespecting me." I scolded. "Okay I get it, can you please go now?" I asked irritated. He got up and left, at least I have to see huckleberry in class.

I stayed where I was, on my bed facing my wall until I fell asleep. The next morning I woke up and got ready.I put on black tights, shorts, a strapless top and combat boots. I grabbed my jacket and started to leave when I was stopped. "What's with the shirt?" Shawn asked. "It's just a shirt." I told him. "It's to low." He told me. I rolled my eyes. "Ooh a shoulder how scandalous." As soon as it escaped my mouth I regretted saying that. "Go change now Maya!" he demanded. I dropped my bag and went back to change. I came back into the kitchen where Shawn was. "Happy?" I asked annoyed. "Yeah, you can go now." My eyes rolled once again as I left to pick up Riley. I crawled through the window. "Ugh Riley are you ready?" I demanded. "Maya? What are you so upset about?" she asked. "Shawn is pissing me off so bad ever since he got home." I answered. "What did he do?" she tried to continue the conversation. "First I tell him about the vandalism and he yells at me, then he bans me from talking to Lucas, now I can't even wear the shirt i want to!" I vented. "What shirt did you want to wear?" she asked. "You know the black strapless one?" "The strapless crop top? Maya, even my dad wouldn't let me wear that."

"well Shawn isn't my dad! As much as he may want to like it, he's not! Why can't you understand that?"

"I do understand peaches. Let's just go to school okay?"

I nodded and we left to school. Lucas came over to me at my locker. "Sorry Huckleberry I'm not allowed to talk to you anymore. Orders of my step father." I stated with no emotion and walked past him not staying to see his reaction.
