"Kaylyn! Get up! We gotta be at church in 40 minutes!" I hear mommy yell from downstairs. "Mommy I'm getting up!" I yell back. Me and mommy go to church every Sunday morning with grandma and sometimes grandpa but whenever grandpa comes, mommy seems mad. I don't really like grandpa. He calls me a brat. I don't even know what the word brat means! I get up and put on my new green dress that grandma bought me for church. I don't go shopping with mommy because she's at work with auntie Lexi a lot. "Kaylyn! Hurry it up sweetie butt!" I hear mommy yell. "Mommmy! You know I don't like it when you call me that!" I say, mad. I hate the name sweetie butt. I put on my green dress with my matching green socks AND matching green hair clip. I'm gonna look so good today! I grab my teddy and head downstairs to eat some Cheerios with mommy. I see her running her fingers through her hair. I love mommys hair. It's so red and pretty. Too bad I got daddy's hair. Stupid brown hair. I get to see Daddy after church today! Me, mommy, and grandma always go see him after church.
Church was boring, as usual. I go to a classroom while mommy and grandma go to the big room and listen to some old man talk about stuff. In the classroom last Sunday I made a friend! His name is Andy! He says that I'm his only friend though! I feel so lucky! Mommy don't believe me that I have a friend named Andy. I wonder why. Me and Andy colored a picture together.
We got out of church and went to Starbucks and mommy let me have a cake pop! Yum yum! After Starbucks we went and saw daddy. Mommy always gets sad when we see daddy.
We walk to see daddy while I'm holding grandma's hand.
I look down at daddy's grave. I've never met my daddy. Mommy won't tell me what happened to daddy. She gets sad when I ask about it. Mommy gets down on her knees next to daddy's grave. "I love you Andy. I told you I'd never forget you." Mommy kissed the ground in front of daddy's grave stone. Mommy gets up and comes over to me and grandma. She hugs grandma tight. "Thanks for being there for me mom." I see water on mommys cheek. I hug her around her legs because I'm not tall enough to actually give her a real bear hug. "Don't be sad mommy. Daddy loves you too. He told me." I said. Mommy leaned down and hugged me back. I leg go of Mommy and sat down at daddy's grave. "Hi daddy. How was your day? Mine was good. I got to color at church! I colored a picture of Jesus!" I said happily. I kissed the ground that daddy was under. "I love you daddy. Have a good day!" I patted the ground and stood up. I looked at mommy and grandma, they both had the water on their cheeks.
