Hayden:i
Hayden woke up to the sound of Pain and Panic yelling frantically. She groaned and pulled the worn out covers over her head, hoping to drown them out, but it was no use. They were right outside her door.
"Hayden!" Pain screeched. "Get your lazy rump out of bed and let us in!"
"Why should I?" Hayden called back. She wasn't planning to get out of bed any time soon. In fact, she would probably skip school today.
"Hayden" Panic said nervously. "Lord Hades is back from the tavern!"
Hayden immediately sat up in bed. She may not be very good at math, but she did know one thing: Hades plus drunk equals I'm out of here. "I guess I'll be going to school today," she muttered under her breath. Hayden quickly put on some clothes and ran her fingers through her short, blue curls. Then she put her been-dead-for-a-while-but-for-some-reason-haven't-disintegrated-yet crown of sunflowers on her head. "Hayden!" Panic called frantically.
"Alright, alright," Hayden said opening the door for them. Pain and Panic scurried into her room and hid under her bed.
"Hayden!" her father slurred from downstairs. "Pain! Panic!"
"Yikes," Hayden said. She grabbed her bag and headed towards her window. "See you guys later," she said to Pain and Panic before hopping onto a ledge. She didn't wait for a response as she slowly made her way down. Hayden was thankful for the thousandth time that she lived in a weird hybrid mansion that was part gothic, part Victorian, and part medieval. There were so many ledges and ridges that it was like she had a built in ladder. She had finally reached the ground and made her way through the courtyard garden. It was supposed to be a replica of the forbidden garden back in the underworld, except it was barren due to lack of care. Hayden opened the iron fence that separated her father's mansion from the rest of the isle, hoping it wouldn't make a sound. But of course, with Hayden's luck, the fence squeaked so loud that the whole Isle probably heard it. She cringed and hurried onto the main road that led to her school. Hayden walked through the winding roads of the Isle, ignoring how people steered clear away from her. If your dad is a psycho god, people tend to fear you whether your crazy or not. But Hayden didn't mind. As long as people left her alone. When she finally arrived at Dragon Hall, her high school, the bell had already rung. Hayden shrugged and wandered through the halls for a while before finally heading to her first class. When Hayden walked through the door of Selfies 101, the whole class was whispering in hushed tones and glancing towards the back of the classroom. She knew what that meant. Something must've happened. Hayden mentally face palmed. I miss five minuets of class and then something interesting happens... Hayden walked to her seat in the back of the room and noticed what everyone was looking at. Or rather who every one was looking at. It was a familiar looking girl with long glossy hair done in a v braid. She was talking to Carlos de Vil all chummy like. Where had Hayden seen her before? She sat down in her seat on the other side of Carlos, and pretended to sleep. She would figure it out soon enough, she thought.
