It's always kind of weird to move. You have no idea if you'll make friends or if anybody will like you. Fortunately, I didn't have that problem. My boyfriend ; lived here, so I could always just go to his friends and hang out with him. We've been dating for maybe 5 months now, so at least I had one friend here.

We moved just after the summer break, so school had already started, which meant that I had to go to school immediately after getting settled in. Not the ideal thing.

Nonetheless, I got up the next morning and got ready. Minimal make-up, pretty clothes, breakfast, books and then off to school.

I wasn't necessarily a perfect student, but I wasn't a bad one either. Just average. That's me all the time actually. Average looks, average family, average house. Though the house had changed now.

It only took about ten minutes to get to the school and I walked in with my step-brother Jimmy. Jimmy was kind, different than how step-brothers are portrayed in stories. They're either super hot and you have sex with them, or they're terribly annoying and make fun of you all the time.

Jimmy was different. Though he was attractive.

We walked through the hallways towards the principal's office where I was supposed to get my schedule. I was a junior, Jimmy a senior and Matt was a senior as well, so it was unlikely for me to have any classes with them.

I was quick to get my schedule and immediately raced to my class, which I was already three minutes late for. Great.

1st. English Literature. Mrs White. R17

2nd. Mathematics. Mr Tonkin. R24

3rd. Gymnastics. Miss Holesy. Gym Hall.

4th. Free Period.

5th. AP Chemistry. Miss Troye. Library.

6th. Study Hall. Mrs White. R17

So my schedule didn't look that bad. It was quickly placed back into my bag as I opened the door to room 17. Every student in the room including the teacher Mrs White looked towards me as I slid inside quickly and silently.

"You must be Rosemarie Hayes, new student" Mrs White said to which I nodded. "Alright, why don't you introduce yourself to the class and tell us one special thing about you" Another nod from me.

"I'm Rosemarie Hayes, 15 years old and my favorite colour is glitter" I said, facing the class. Most students just looked at me boredly, while others just stared at something else.

"That's not a special thing" Mrs White retorted. I was kind of shocked from her saying that, I though she wasn't very interested in her students. One person put their hand up and Mrs White pointed her perfectly manicured nail at her.

"We all had to do it" the girl spoke quickly.

I thought long and hard, as I didn't know anything special about me.

"I suppose I can dance" I whispered. I picked at the hem of my skirt, keeping my head down. Dancing had always been a passion of mine, but I was ashamed of it. I was ashamed of the fact that I was actually good at something, but I didn't want anyone to know because they'd want me to perform. And performing had always been a fear of mine.

I quickly walked towards a free desk in the back, sitting down almost immediately. Thankfully, nobody had really paid attention to the encounter with Mrs Smith and I at the front of the class and all moved on with the lesson about Lolita, which was the book we were going to read.

After another 50 minutes of English Lit, the bell rang and I went to R24; Maths.

After Maths and Gymnastics I had a free period, the only class in common with Tommy and Matt. So, I asked around and found Tommy, then Matt. I'd sat with Tommy and his friends for about ten minutes when I Matt walked down the halls with his friends. He spotted me almost immediately and motioned for me to come over to him.

I got up and walked quickly, only to be developed in his arms fast. He kissed the top of my head and held my hand before letting go of the hug. I smiled up at him as we sat down next to Tommy again.

"I don't think we've ever properly met, I'm Tommy Hayes" Tommy said and held his hand out for Matt to shake. "Matt Shear" he replied and shook Tommy's hand befor ewrapping it tightly around me again.

"So, babe, have you made any friends yet?" Matt said. His sickeningly sweet voice kept me on edge as I bit lightly on the skin around my thumb, something I was quite addicted to.

"If I can count Tommy's and your friends and the duck that sits outside the Maths window all the time as friends, then yes" I replied, still biting on the sensitive skin that was already bleeding, thankfully, nobody noticed.

Everyone chuckled around me as Matt's arm around me tightened, his cold fingers leaving bruises on my waist. I had grown accustomed to it though, it was a regular occurence for him to leave bruises on my body and mind. It hurt, yes, but he did it out of love.

I winced as Matt's grip burned on my skin, Tommy immediately giving me a worried glance. I played it off with a warm smile and placed my hand on his. He smiled back, not completely convinced but still smiling.

I was screaming internally, Matt's disgusting fingers still gripping on my flesh. I kept it inside, though.
