the sun shone through the bed room window and lily opened her eyes waking to her silent world ready for breakfast her sister was a bit slower to wake up as even the brightest light from the sun did not shine through her black perspective of the world yet the warmth of the sun did slowly alert her of morning by the time kirra would awake lily would already be down stairs telling her mother what she wanted for breakfast through sign language by the time kirra had joined her family down stairs break fast was ready and lily and kirra would often start a conversation in witch no one could understand for the methods they used to communicate were very complicated in order for lily who is deaf to talk to her blind sister she had to talk like a normal person but often slurred her words as she could only hear them in her mind and not in reality but kirra had grown to know what her sister meant when she spoke in a way that almost sounded like gibberish.although it was not terribly hard for lily to talk to her sister kirra had to have a different method to talk to her deaf sister she had to use sign language but sign language is for those who are deaf and want to talk to those who can hear,but it is easier to learn sign language when you can see your hands moving kirra did not have this luxury so it was twice as hard to learn sign language so she could talk to her sister but she managed.it had been eight years since the twins had lost their senses to cancer but they had learned to live with it and moved on with their many methods for making life easier with their handicaps life had been normal for them they even had friends all of witch did not share the same handicaps but all of their friends got along great with them even though they could not see or hear.the two twins were 11 for now but their birthday was approaching fast and kirra although blind had impeccable hearing and late at night she could hear her parents conversing in the other room about what the two twin would get for their birthday and of course she made sure to tell her deaf sister about what she heard and every night the week before their birthday conversed about what they might be getting as from the clues it seemed like kirra was getting a seeing eye dog and lily would sketch pad because of her love of drawing
