Chapter Eighteen

3 weeks later (Tiffany's Birthday)

Today is my 21st birthday. I'm going to San Fransisco to see my mom for the first time in 5 years. It's 5:00 in the morning and it's a 6 hour drive to get to San Fransisco.

I get out of bed and go downstairs to find breakfast.

I quietly pass by Adam's bedroom, his door wide open.

I quietly laughed at him because his face was squished against his pillow.

I go downstairs and go to the kitchen.

I try to search through the cabinets quietly but since he has glass bowls, I made some noise.

I hear a groan from upstairs.

Now I know that Adam is awake.

I hear his footsteps coming down the stairs.

"It's five in the morning. Why are you up?" Adam asked, sleep in his voice.

"And happy birthday." Adam added, kissing me on the cheek.

"Thank you. And I'm going to San Fransisco to see my mom today." I replied

I told Adam about my mom a few days ago.

"Were you looking for food?" Adam asked, going to the fridge.

"Yeah." I replied.

Adam turned around with a chocolate cupcake.

"Happy Birthday." Adam smiled.

"Awww. Thank you." I hugged him.

I ate my cupcake, and did a lot of talking with Adam.

"Okay, I need to get ready now." I said.

"Yeah, so do I." Adam replied.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I don't know. Maybe hang out with Tommy or Terrance." Adam said.

"Oh." I replied and went into my bedroom.

I throw on a white t-shirt, denim jeans, black wedged heels, and black and white jewelry.

For makeup, I put on gray and brown eyeshadow and dark red lipstick.

I look at myself in the mirror to check if I missed anything.

I gave myself a thumbs up and walked out of my bedroom.

I head downstairs until Adam stopped me.

"What are you doing, Ad?" I asked.

"Close your eyes. And cute outfit by the way." Adam said, smiling like a child.

"Why? Is 'Never Close Our Eyes' playing somewhere? And thanks." I replied, joking to my reference of 'Never Close Our Eyes'.

"No. Just close your eyes." Adam said.

I did as I was told.

Adam picked me up and brought me to where I felt I was outside.

He puts me down and tells me to open my eyes.

I open my eyes to see a Cadillac XTS parked right next to Adam's Maserati.
