Pure Betrayal

Healed!

I didn't get a chance to think about what i was doing .... Breathing was a blessing that I didn't get until now. I stayed there testing my breathing for a bit then remembered that Trey might not have the same luck. I swam back up to him and saw him as shocked as I was because he was also breathing. Since we couldn't exactly talk, I swam back down and freed his foot. We both swam up to the surface and got out of the 'ditch' and sat on the dirt. We stayed quiet for a second, when I looked over I saw treys leg covered in blood.
" oh my gosh trey!" I whisper, crawling over to him.
"It's fine Des, I'll survive" he says bluntly.
I role up his jeans and stare at the wound.
"It looks bad, maybe we should go a doctor!" I try to push him up but he doesn't move an inch.
"I can't walk. It hurts too much when I put pressure on my leg"
"Ok fine. Let me at least clean it up with some water. Please." I say sincerely.
"I guess" he turns away.
What was wrong?? He seemed very off. I tore up the piece of jean that was covered in blood and dipped it in the water we had just gotten out of. I walked back to Trey and dabbed the cloth on his leg. I looked up at him and he looked in a lot of pain. I got up and gave him a hug. We hugged for what seemed an hour when he broke the silence. "Des you could've gotten hurt ! Why would you practically drown yourself ! "
I was taken aback by his tone but understood what he meant.
"Trey I wouldn't ever leave you behind. I wouldn't want to live without you" we looked at each other and his facial features softened. "Could you breath??" He whispered.
"could you?" I asked back curious.
"I felt like I could. I'm going crazy" he dropped his head into his hands and seemed embarrassed.
"So did I " I say back .
I looked back at his leg to make sure he wasn't getting an infection or anything.
"TREY! TREY!!!! You're leg!!" I shout while pointing at his leg in astonishment.
"What the heck ???" He was just as surprised !
"It healed !! How's that possible ??" I don't know whether I'm happy or scared.
"How's breathing under water possible " he had a point.
"Is it the water that's doing this ? Can you stand up?"
He stood up like nothing had happened. I just stared. I couldn't believe it.
"Let's look around. Maybe there's something else around here that'll make our jaws drop" I smile in excitement and take his hand in mine while he walk through the trees.
