Zara's POV
I sat in my window sill looking into the once again gray sky. Clouds moving slowly, my life, moving slowly. Everyday was the same, do everything a "women would do".

This isn't normal, women just get money handed to them, while men do the dirty work. They leave for work, women clean their houses.

I thought we were all equals, boys and girls can't even go to the same school. I just wanna break out of the town one day. I can't be stuck with another pink dress.

Women were only allowed to wear "girl" colors. Honestly, what is a girl color. Color is color you mix pink and blue it makes purple, so what would purple be?

We were only allowed to have "girl" and "boy" names, no unisex names. You don't know how many Sarah's there are in this town.

I slipped on my pink converse, "Moms I am going on a walk." One of my moms came and stopped me by the door. "You remember the rules right?" I nodded my head not caring.

"Only the-"

"The right side of the street, don't communicate with boys blah blah blah. Mom I am seventeen, not seven." She kissed my cheek and left before giving me a small smile.

I opened the white wood door looking across the street at the blue houses. It wasn't hard to tell who was on which side, just who lived at each house.

Another door had opened, but to a blue house. I locked eyes with him. Too bad I could never talk to him, it's just the world we live in. The inequality we go through.
