I walked in to the party with a smile amd no hint of any of the freaked out feelings that had overcome me less than two hours before. The party had already begun with almost all the pack members in the now decorated pack hall. Or at least as many pack members that were around. The rest were currently fighting in the ongoing war. I looked around and spotted Damon my brother having a drink with dad and a few pack members. I knew he was excited because today apart from being the day he would start his alpha duties temporarily- temporarily because he would be able to attend to pack matters but not without advice and agreement from the former pack alpha..just like he was still supervised...until he becomes 21 when he would fully take over the pack-was also the day he was going to find his mate..if she was in the pack. The same would have happened to me-minus the whole alpha thing- except I am not exactly a wolf.

"...the birthday wolf" I heared and walked down the stairs to stand near the two alphas, damon and my dad and it remained three hours till the countdown. When a werewolf was born particularly alpha wolfs, the time they were born is recorded. For normal wolfs this is because during their birthday their wolfs would come out exactly then..so there was a countdown..while for alpha wolf who have already gotten their wolf three years before or sometimes even earlier, the countdown is going to bring their wolf out to find their mate and take control as alpha.

I walked around meeting and greeting pack members who wished me a happy birthday, before going to meet damon.

"Excited?" I knew he knew so I knew what he was talking about when he said excited

"No..I'm scared" he turned obviously suprised at my admission.

"Dont worry Soluna..we'll be with you all the way" he said holding my hand and smiling.

I gave him a small smile and changed the topic."What about you aren't you excited..finding your mate and alpha duties and all"

"Yeah..I mean what if I dont find my mate or what if I'm a bad alpha or what if one of my decisions lead to the death of the entire pack".

"Dont worry dimwit..you'll be the best alpha ever..Trust me"

"Yeaah..Yeah! Youre right."

"Its the last minute  for the alpha and its time for the countdown..can the alpha wolfs come to the the platform please...Everybody 60..59..58..57..56"

" I guess its time Damon..happy birthday alpha..your going to turn first since you're seven minutes older" I said as we stood on the platform smiling down a the pack members counting.

"34..33..32..31..30..29"

"Yeah, I guess so.. After I turn and find my mate, I'll come back in time for yours..its going to be hard turning for the first time Soluna"

"16..15..14..13..12"

"I know."

"10..9..8.."

"We all love you Soluna"

"6..5..4"

"I know..and I love you too..Happy birthday alpha"

"2..1..HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALPHA"

Damon changed into his wolf immediately. His aura now stronger than before. He now reeked alpha and power. He lifted his nose to the air sniffing in a large amount of air before dashing in a particular direction. People parted for him knowing whoever he stopped at was his mate. He moved round the hall sniffing the air for the scent before actually stopping in front of a pack girl. Every body turned to face her. Her name is Eleanor, the second daughter to one of the pack warrior that was at war. She has been taking care of her mother since her sister, the first daughter had moved to another pack with her mate and her brother was also in the war. She is very down to earth and quite matured, a perfect fit for Damon who could at times be very playfull. She is beautiful with her long black hair and petite figure, Although she is sixteen-two years younger than Damon- she would make a great Luna.

She bent down on her knees and stroked Damons' fur and the lucky son of a flower purred out loud an action he is  definitely going to regret later. Damon went to change into another set of cloth before coming to meet his mate human form to human form. He held her hands and took her to the platform officially introducing her as his mate and the packs luna. Everbody cheered, while the poor girl raised her head shyly.

After that Everbody turned to me, remembering that my countdown was starting in about two minutes. A smiling Damon holding a blushing Eleanor came to stand at my side as the countdown started.

"60..59..58..57.."

"I guess its your turn now"

"Yeah, it is isnt it"

"Dont worry Soluna, its going to be fine"

"You should not worry Damon, I'm ready for this"

"12..11..10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3."

"Happy birthday soluna"

"2..1..HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOLUNA" and then it began

I know it's not that long but I wanted to have a cliffhanger of some sort....
