You couldn't find him. Not at the party, not anywhere. But you knew you weren't imagining things. Once you were finished your "business", you found a note on the ground with the name William on it. It said that though he could not be with you he would continue to watch over you. You had know clue what that even meant, but you went with it.
So, for the next few weeks, you wrote letters to him. You never sent them because it wasn't necessary. You would just leaven them on the counter at home. The next day, there was a letter in response from him. This was how you learned so much about him. And as it turns out, he was a Reaper, so he was constantly working. Your schedules didn't match up and that was one of the reasons he decided not to be with you.
One day, you mentioned in a letter to him that your were getting sick a lot more often. You wrote that your stomach felt odd all the time and that your were cranky sometimes for no reason. When you returned home from work that day, he wrote back that he believes your could be pregnant. You went to the doctor and she confirmed that you were indeed a month pregnant. And you knew exactly who the father was.
You wrote him that night, telling him that he was the father of the child you were pregnant with. He didn't write back. You were devastated that he took it so badly. He didn't write to you that entire week. You'd left your letters, but they were always left untouched and without response.
After a month of not talking to him, you decided that you'd raise the baby relentless of the fact that his (it was going to be a boy) father was not going to be around. It was your child and you were going to love him with all you had. The problem was that all you had was not enough to pay for all the things he needed. You lived paycheck to paycheck and had little wiggle room for luxuries let alone having the money for so much baby stuff. I offered to give you money, but you wanted to do this on your own. You saved up money you would usually use for luxuries for your baby.
Two months later, you came home to find that your apartment was filled with all the essentials you needed to raise the baby. In your spare room, the crib was built, there was baby clothes in the corner, diapers, baby formula and so much more. You originally thought that I had done all this, but you noticed a letter on the counter.
It read:
Dear (Y/N),
Please forgive me for not answering your letters these past three months. I was busy getting only the best for our baby. I know you must think that I do no want our child, but that is far from true. I am thrilled to be having a child with you. You are the one warm light in my world full of cold darkness. Please don't stop lighting up my life.
One of these days I shall build up the courage to finally show you my face. But until then please be patient with me, and I will try to give you the life you truly deserve.
-William
All your faith in him was restored. He had bought you all of this and was even building up the courage to present himself to you. Knowing him, that was a lot to ask, but he was willing to do it for you. It warmed your heart. You quickly wrote a letter back, telling him you were willing to give this relationship one more chance.
***5 MONTHS LATER***
You were due any day and you were still yet to see Will's face. You were getting really anxious so you decided to take a walk. You were walking past an alley when two hands grabbed you from behind. Your back was pushed against a wall and your were terrified.
"Hello pretty lady," the deep. scratchy voice of a dirty looking male said. He looked like a criminal.
"Leave me alone," you whimpered.
"I don't think so," he said.
"But I'm pregnant," you retorted softly.
"You think I care?" With that, he pushed his mouth onto yours. You closed your eyes, praying that someone will save you. Your attacker was suddenly away from you. You opened your eyes to see a figure of a man in a suit blocking you from your attacker.
"Unless you want me to reap your soul here and now, I suggest you stay away from Ms. (Y/N)," he said in a voice all to familiar to you. Once your attacker had run away from you, you were left with the man who had protected you.
"William?" you asked in a quivering voice.
"Yes, it is me," he said calmly. He turned slowly, showing you his face for the first time. He was beautiful. A bit stoic looking but his eyes were the most beautiful shade of green. You were about to say something, but it soon turned into a cry of pain when your water broke. You were going to have the baby now.

William got you to the hospital as fast as he could and your gave birth to a lovely baby boy. He had his father's reaper eyes and was extremely giggly. Taking a look at his baby boy, William smile for the first time.
