A/N: Hey guys. So my friend suggested I should do quicker uploads shorter chapters, so that's what I'm doing. I promise though that the chapters won't get any smaller than 2 pages, and if I'm feeling extra nice, I will make a chapter three pages. Once I get up to 6 chapters on this story I am going to go through and edit it, so I can make it longer and more descriptive.
Chapter 4
Alex's POV
Once I arrived at school I was relieved to find not many people there, in my dream I had probably been running late, due to the fact that half or more students had been there. Like usual I found Mary sitting under a tree reading what I could see was The Last Song. She has watery, red, puffy eyes and a scarlet nose, she's probably up to where the father is dying.
"Hey," I say as I slide down the tree, next to her.
She looks up from her book and smiles. "Hi."
"Sad."
She nods and buries her head back into the story.
I sigh and stand up, re-adjusting my book bag from where it had fallen down my right shoulder. The books inside are heavy, along with my homework, a writing book, my IPod and my purse. But it isn't as heavy as usual, usually I have thicker, bigger books for History and English, but I have free periods in those sessions today.
I take one last look at Mary and see she wouldn't care or wouldn't notice if I left. Deciding to not interrupt her from Book Land, I walk away from her and into the school, bot stopping at each step, due to not very many people active right now.
Once I make it to my locker I put the books I wouldn't be needing right now inside it, check my reflection in the mini magnet mirror and sigh, glad I don't look like a zombie.
More people start to arrive, the hallways starting to get a little crowded for my liking. Closing my locker gently, I walk over to my first class, English, one of the classes in which I can do anything in today.
Finding an empty seat somewhere in the middle, I sit down and get out my IPod and start to listen to 'The A Team.' songs about drugs always seem to spark my interest, I don't know why, though, it's interesting how they describe what the drugs do and what they make you feel.
I hear the bell ring, muffled by the glorious sound of Ed Sheeran singing. Looking around the classroom, I notice a lot more people are now in here, though there is still a few spare seats.
I felt a presence sit next to my right, so I turn my head to see. A girl sat there with her English book open in front of her.
I un-plug my headphones and switch off my IPod, leaning over to here I say "It's free period."
She looks up at me and starts to blush. "Oh," she says.
"Yeah. So you new here?"
"Yes."
"Awesome. I'm Alex," I put out my hand for her to shake.
"Jennifer. So do you know your way around the school?" she shakes my hand.
"Uh, yeah. I could be your personal guide person if you like."
"I'd like that."
Through out that hour I got to know Jennifer. She's really active, but also loves reading and lazing around. Jennifer has blonde hair and blue eyes which turn to gold if she's angry. Once you get to know her, she gets rid of her shyness and becomes a girl any guy could fall in love with. Hopefully Mary will like her, sometimes she can get very possessive and violent.
Unfortunately Jennifer doesn't have the same class as me next, I have Maths and she has Cooking. Though, I did find out that she has History, Biology, Science and Art with me. Oh, we could have some fun together.
I show Jennifer where the Cooking building is, then left her. Once I got to Maths, I see Mary sitting at a double table. I take a seat beside her.
"Hey. What took you so long?" she asks.
"I was showing a new person around. Her names Jennifer, I would like you to meet her at lunch, she's very nice but shy at first," I explain.
"Okay."
* * *
Jennifer and Mary got along great, I'm so happy that I don't have to have another lecture with Mary about how I can chose which people I want to be friends with and so on.
Now I'm sitting in my room, homework scattered around my desk, bed messed up, and me in a tank top and pajama shorts, dancing around and singing 'I Like It Like That' by Hot Chelle Rae.
Jake's POV
I ate quickly at McDonalds, people were having dates there and I would keep on getting glances from every girl. Once I made it back home, I found Mum crashed out on the couch with a cover wrapped around her body, the guy that was fucking her already gone.
Finally, I have some peace and quiet, something that I get rarely.
I have some homework to do, but can't be bothered. What's the point of doing it if you don't need to? I'm not dumb, but I'm nor exactly smart. I usually gets B's and B+'s but sometimes I get the odd A-.
Sitting on my bed, I plug in my IPod onto the dock and start to play random songs by SlipKnot. Their singing always seemed to energize me, make me want to get up and run, though, sometimes when I listen to their music I want to punch something or someone, it really depends on what mood I'm in.
After a few hours of listening to their music, I switch all the lights off and go to sleep.
I would of taken sleeping pills if I had known what was coming for me that night.
A/N: Cliff hanger. So guys, sorry it's short and all, I quickly whipped this up. Upload might become once a week, I wrote a list of SOME of the things I need to do on wattpad this school holidays (6 weeks) and I already have 23 things to do. All of them are uploading or writing stories. So sorry if I don't upload on during next week, I promise though I will upload on Christmas Eve, for a merry christmas present, as the next day I'm going out.
Thanks.
